I honestly believe the club must act now, before we see another Frawley shemozzle and end up doing irreparable damage. I believe someone has to grow the balls and finally make those hard decisions we all know are required. I believe our fortunes can be turned around with 1-2 years, with some smart list management, greater coaching nous and some MAJOR balls!!
I suggest the following are done to ensure the club regains its status as one of the top four melb clubs, and that we finally get some quality players and quality footy played in the park.
Start off with Wallace. Has to go. Seems to have lost touch with his coaching abilities and requirements as he is spending way too much time on innovations and ways to change the game as a whole. The fact that the major concern of the players was that they saw nowhere near enough of him is evidence to that. Seems like his mind and passion would be better suited working for the AFL rather than the Richmond Football Club.
The following players need to be traded to gain early draft picks and re build the club with quality youngsters.
Deledio – Would easily get a pick within the top 4.
Tambling – Easily get a first round pick.
Polo – First round pick and at worst an early second round.
Meyer – Second or early third round
P.Bowden – Second or third round
A.Pattison – Third Round pick
N.Foley – Can get a second round pick
S.Tuck – Second round pick or early third
G.Tivendale – Delist
M.White – Third or fourth round
K.Moore – Late pick or delist
B.Hartigan – Late pick or delist
D.Jackson – Delist
C.Hyde – Delist
M.Coughlan – Second round pick
D.Gaspar – Delist
T.Knobel – Delist
A.Krakouer – Second or early third round pick
R.Hall – Late pick or delist
J.Schulz – second round pick
L.Mcguane – delist
K.Pettifer – Second round pick
Leaves us with – J.Bowden(must play around Half forward line), Richardson, Johnson, Hughes, Howat, Newman, Thursfield, N.Brown, Raines, Polak, Simmonds, JON, Reiwoldt, Edwards, Connors, Collins, Casserley
Potential Picks – 3 first round picks – 6 second round picks – 5 third or later round picks. Enough to pick up some star youngsters and rebuild the team. If we wait for this current crop to get to the mid age group and find out they are not up to(which they aren’t) then we are seriously doomed.
