Any further word on Wil's situation??
Injury list in todays hun.
Cotch foot 8 weeks
Willie knee 1-2 weeks
Luke shoulder 1-2 weeks
Gus ankle 1-2 weeks
Mystore hip 1-2 weeks
Sounds like a bit of precautionary resting for guys that have niggles to carryover injuries from last year.
Poor old Brissie has about 14 players listed as injured and a couple being rested coming into the NAB.

My opinion on Wills injury and im only guessing is that it will be similar to last season but less serious when Will missed 8 weeks post recovery.

Wills injury was a nasty one and the rigours of hard running over Pre Season will no doubt cause soreness and inflammation in his knee id reckon, thus Will is being eased in to allow for his knee to get back for the season proper after having to punish his knee a bit so he could get the fitness required.

Most likely about management and ive heard nothing re arthroscopes or surgery for him.

Like i said just guessing, without knowing the full extent of his surgery ie whether there was cartilage damge in the knee and if so how much.

Take off the rose-coloured glasses Craig. If he wasn't your pin up boy you'd be writing him off as a dud :rofl

God I hope Thursty can live up to everyone's expectations. He has had 1 1/2 good quarters on roo 2 years ago and a promising end to last year but has been penciled in as RFC full back for the next ten years. I hope to goodness TW has plan B because there are plenty of ups and downs for Thursty before he will be a true FB. He is still learning the game and still needs an amazing run to not get crusified during his apprenticeship. PRE posters need to understand that he will have bags kicked on him in this learning process. He has not arrived just yet.

Disagree.

Sometimes you can look at a player and just 'know' he has got 'it'. Will is one of them IMO. Is he a FB, maybe not...is he an AFL footballer who can play 10 years, certainly is! Only thing that may stop him is injury, touch wood....

Agree. Looks like a high quality AFL defender to me. In most sports, some players catch your eye very quickly. Thursfield is one of those.

Will has a very promising future but will be best suited as a 3rd tall.

To have Will in the BP will be a luxury and a sign of Key Position depth and structure which is exactly what the club does not have.

Don't disagree that Will looks to have the tools for an AFL career. I just think that the expectations are huge at the moment. Players are ment to spend a few years learning the trade in a back pocket or off a bench. Will has been thrust into the position early because we have no options. Makes you wonder what plan B is...???

There is no plan B or C ................................. in fact to be honest there hasnt even been a plan A cos if there was the club wouldnt be in this position in regard to no depth of size, skill or specialist structure in the defensive half.

Wallets aversion to quality specialist talls in Key Possies is coming home to roost just as it did at the Dogs especially with the injury to an undersized under strengthed bloke who is a Back Pocket Type unfairly being cast as the Great Saviour down back who is made to fight out of his division week in week out due to poor recruiting and management strategies.
