What number is on your back??

Cool Thread

Started with 29 for KB. Then I think I had 4 for Rainsey before he buggered off to the Carringbush. Didn't have a jumper until Freezer turned up so moved to 30. When he went down, I think Bourkey took it over so that was a bit of backward step. Then I had a training top with the claw marks with 11 on it for Bowdo and finally bought one of these jumpers with the No. 17 on it in rememberance of Cptn. Blood

Haven't had a footy jumper for a long time, but used to be like 5000 other kids with

ROACH

on the back of my duffel coat (a what? coat, I can hear some of you say). Still have the coat somewhere, it's a work of art and has all manner of Richmond insignia on it.

Ha! That's what I wanted - #8 - when I was at school with my duffel coat :spin.....but wasn't allowed to put anything on the back and had to put up with a few daggy badges on the sleeves...and remember those little thin strips with names of the players you could sew on - black with yellow writing...had some of those.... the good old days...............

Back in the '80s I had number 7, for some guy with a moustache who was good at the time...

Nowadays if I went number ironing-on I'd need a '4' and a '1' (in that order). :)

we really are getting some nice threads happening lately!!

Well when i was a kid in the 80s it was #8, i now have #12 and another with #21. #12 is my pride and joy.

If i sat here and named every signature i have on my jumpers, it'd be a long night. My current new season rfc ladies polo has cogs on one sleee, petteirson on the other, and tuck on the collar.

I had number-8 when I was a kid too! :clap
Roachy being the goalkicking ace, and my birthday is on the 8th, so 8 was a natural number for me.

Later on when I played, I wore number-4.
So in the 90s, I had 4 on my back...Matty Rogers was one of my favourite players at that time, 4 was worn by Royce Hart (arguably our greatest player ever) and of course, I wore 4 when I played.

So at present, its still number-4 on my back. 8)

hmmm, i wear number 11. not because of Joel Bowden because thats MY football number.

On my tiger jumpers i dont have numbers, but i like schulz, i just want him to become a good player!

My old jumper has a 4 because the 3 peeled off. Im about to get a new one with the name and number printed on the back but i cant decide which one to get.

I wear number 11 for my club, not because i wanted it but thats what i got.

Have 3 jumpers my jumper from 95 had no.18 (Stuart Edwards) my jumper from 2001 no.33 no explanation needed and my current one is signed with the number 7 on the back, if only he'd get back on the park in the one's!!

Was a fan of the great Roger Dean when I was a little nipper so 3 has always remained my favourite number. However I have a signed number 2 hanging proudly on the wall in the study and I don't think I'll ever be so singled minded about a player again.

Growing up as a kid I wore the number 40...Geoff Raines...then when he changed to number 4...I got Mum to get rid of the Zero for me.
Now my nephew wears it proud...with Andrew Raines obviously being his fave player.

Where could I get one of those duffel coats? I'd love one. Had one when I was a kid- a footy essential.

In the old days I had 21 for Neil Balme.

These days 46. That's what size I wear. But by a happy coincidence we have a footballer who wears that number.
