what players shoudnt be there next year?

Gone, one way or another:

Hughes, Johnson, King, Pettifer, Polak, Brown, Simmonds, Sylvester*.

Serious looks at:

Schulz, Raines, McMahon, Edwards, Gourdis*

Elevate:

Nahas, Browne

Thay leaves at least 5 picks (with possibly more) and 3 (possibly 4) rookie picks.

Ask me after round 22 or our last final if we make the 8.

I'm with you mate.

It worries me a little that we expect our team to perform when the fans themselves are naming names of players to be delisted 1 month into the season.... :-\

i think if the RFC want to move forward with the list, Terry Wallace or not

Bowden, Brown, Johnson, King, Pettifer, Polak, Shulz, Simmonds and Tuck need to be moved on and be replaced with youth. KPP forwards need to be number 1 priority while graham, browne and pattison to be developed in the ruck.

as the commentator said on saturday night we have a midget forward line, would love to see richmond play 3-4 big solid target forwards every week with NAAAAAHAS, bling, morton cruming at their feet would scare most defensive opposition.

The biggest problem Richmond face with draft picks, is that the Gold Coast are going to come in and then Western Sydney. That means the draft picks for 2010, 2011 and 2012 are pretty much firmly these new teams way. If Richmond finishes well down the ladder instead of getting a priority or first, second, third draft pick, it may well be 8th or 9th in the first round, followed by mid 2nd round, low 3rd, low 4th and 5th round draft selections.

The Tigers will have to manage their current playing list extremely well. Getting rid of a few older players due to retirement say Bowden, Brown, Johnson and Simmonds, leaves the remaining playing list relatively young. I'd want to keep Bowden on the list for at least 2010, likewise Richardson, who can continue to play the game until he's possibly 37, another 3 years, if his body hold's up. Cousin's likewise, at least 2010 and ideally 2011. With Simmonds possibly gone, that means all the rucking will be done by very inexperienced players, but then sometimes you have to bite the bullet and let the younger players in to find out what's it all about, however the club may give Simmonds another contract (hopefully only for a year but with our mob anythings likely).

Defence I'm not so worried about, its getting the midfielders to develop and really tackle their opposite numbers. Likewise the forward line if both *smile* and Hughes leave, is left rather short in terms of height and places one hell of a lot of pressure (unfairly in my book) on young Riewoldt. *smile* has got one more contracted year, Hughes (not sure), but both need to be kicked up their collective arses and told to get on with it. The coaching staff should be riding both these players almost into the ground to get every ounce of performance on game day from both of them, nothing less, and the forward line is pretty soft in terms of contested marking power and ability to score from around the 50 metre mark.

Right now, every player on the playing list should have been told by Gary March, that they are playing for their careers not only with Richmond but possibly AFL, as I doubt other clubs would want some of the players even the younger ones we've got on our list.

i think Shulz should stay. He will improve up forward without Richo in the side. Watching him, i have seen him and Richo go for many the same mark and i think without Richo there he will drag those grabs in, he has already proved he can take a very good pack mark. Just needs to improve his kicking for goal.

and so am i. Imagine the mayhem and confusion if most PRE posters were running the club. The thought is actually very funny - Claw as recruitmet manager, Masai as Coach. Using their combined approach the team would be exhausted by December and all be sacked by March. Then we could have a team of PRE posters run on for the first game v Carlton. Maybe I could make a cartoon of this scenario!

So I take it you guys have got other options that the Richmond playing group can adopt to win some games.

I've said it before and I'll stick to it, this playing list is MENTALLY WEAK. They cannot handle pressure on the playing field. Not only that some in the playing list have ego's bigger than their collective football skills, which is shown up all too often on the playing field. They are undisciplined, they don't know the meaning of teamwork, or for that matter hard work, they don't know the meaning of courage putting your head over the ball or making a hard tackle or taking the hit from an opponent. Basically the Richmond Football Clubs playing list is SOFT.

I wouldn't coach this team, not in a million years. I've said I'd like to have 3 weeks with them to find out who's got it in them mentally to handle pressure that is outside their comfort zone, coaching I'll leave that to the Terry Wallace and Co.

But given what the players as a collective have produced in terms of losing and losing woefully to Carlton and worse losing to Melbourne, then I'd say a lot of PRE people, members and supporters of the club would be asking the same questions right now who can we get rid of come seasons end and why the hell wouldn't you?

No, not right now, at season's end.
