What the hell are you doing Terry?

Disco,
Having seen my expectations hosed down on more then several occasions I'll be somewhat muted in my optimism but I will say this, bringing in Wallace has been a positive and I sense that the club is cleaning the decks for a full assault in 2007 and beyond. This year, whilst not a write off, will see some good football played in the second half of the year and players who have been in the system for a few years will start to show some real promise, and guys like Hughes, JON and Meyer will begin something of a steep learning curve. You may be wondering why I feel now is different to any other year? The answer to that is Wallace knows where the game is headed and has formulated his team to adapt to the changing pace of football. He's probably short a key position player or two but  hopefully this will be resolved with the next draft - if we are lucky enough to secure a ready made player such as Hansen or Sellar then the whole complexion of our side changes significantly. I'm willing to put myself out on a limb and say that we will be ultra competitive in the second half of this season and will press for finals next year (I'm also willing to admit I'm wrong, something of which others are incapable of).

I think this should have been entitled: where the hell are you Terry? He left us with that overblown bag of wind Piggy Elliott. I turned straight off, I've never heard someone speak so much sh!t before.

:hihi When I started this thread I was sure I was talking about White Line Fever and John "PIGS ARSE" Elliot. At least someone read the text and not just the title.  ;D
We're an emotional bunch, RROFO. :)

This is the most pathetic load of rubbish i have ever heard...both these people make me sick.
Some caller just rang and asked caroline about 3 players
Cogs, Humm and some sup listed player ....i dont know what he was talkin about but apperently this guy avgs 28possys and had 42 last week.....
All caroline said was if richmond lose to brissy then carlton alot of question will be asked about richmonds recruiting over the past few years..........how much $$ does she get paid to talk so much cr@p?!?!.

BRING BACK TERRY!
caro is right there are plenty who have been critical of our recruiting. i will remain critical even if we beat carlton and brissy because i know we should of done a hell of a lot better. ah well it always takes the ferals yrs to wake up to facts.

Claw, as people have said, it's very easy to be critical. A little harder to be critical and to back things up. I would be very interested in finding out how you think we should have done a lot better, in say the past couple of drafts. Who wouldn't have you recruited, let go, traded etc? and why?

Nope. Just want it in print so we can go back to it later in the season and criticize his choices and decision making :)
I'm not holding my breath though :)

Claws criticisms are generally aimed further back than the last two drafts. The gaping hole in our list from 25-30 years old is not due to the last two drafts. Its arose in the years prior as a direct result of trading early draft picks for recylced players and being too slow to turn over draft picks that were not cutting it.

true, but Wallace and the current coaching staff have been there only the past 2 drafts. Are we still going to be criticizing the CURRENT coaching panel for the mistakes of PREVIOUS coaching panels. If after the next 2 seasons, we are still recruiting players who aren't up to it, then by all means bag the cr@p out of them. Until then, give them a chance!

Im asking questions about whats going on down there already.
Terry you could see from the commentary box when you werent coaching as to who the DUDS are and youve had 1 year to see for yourself what theyre like.
Its like Frawdley never left what the *smile* is going on with team selection?
At this stage the Dawks are way ahead of us in their progression up the ladder.
All our youngsters it seems need a lifetime at Coburg to develop youd think were recruiting 15yo not 18yo.

I'd like to know too, but probably something in the line that he is a dirty sniping kneeing mongrel thug that should get rubbed out big time.

Caro Caro Caro. I wish I was on your salary and paid to discuss garbage.

Bring up something new. There isn't a football supporter around who hasnt bagged the club for its past failings with pre Wallace drafts. They were narrow sighted stopgap drafts aimed at filling gaps rather than building a competitive and successful side.

Everyone knows our recruiting was not up to scratch. I think the questions were raised long ago. You seem as narrow minded as they old recruiting staff.

Come up with something new and relevant and dont rehash what we already know and are taking steps to rectify. Thats why there is a plan in place. As a journalist....I assume you know how to plan an article.
It doesn't matter if we do lose to Brisbane and Carlton....as long as the sid eis competitive and shows commitment to the plan and to the jumper.

Plan it and they will come.

Elliott had criticised the current board for letting Campo go to Essendon. Caro said hang on, you're the reason why Aaron Hamill went to St Kilda. She reminded him about the criticism at the Best and Fairest night.

Elliott said that Hamill was about 6th or 7th best player, and wanted to be paid like no 3. He said it was ironic that over time, Hamill got paid less at St Kilda than he would have at Carlton. Somehow from there, they got around to the salary cap, and Elliott said something about we were making sure we didn't go over the cap. Caro said what about the payments he would have got in the brown paper bags. Can't quite remember everything, saw it late Wednesday night, but I think that's fairly close.

Love it :spin , straight to the point and accurate as can be. Some of the old cynical diehards in here dont realise what we are watching here, we are watching our future learn and mature. Whilst the cynics blindly bag and abuse, the more refined can appreciate the opportunity to grow with these youngsters and be able to look back in a few years time and say, yes I watched them get to where they are now, and am proud to have done say.

Well thats the theory anyway!

I spoke to terry at training tonight. He apologised for causing everyone to listen to John Elliot's dribble on Wednesday night. I told him I'd accept his apology this time, but don't let it happen again >:(.
