What to do about McMahon? Suggestions? [Merged]

last week on pre I predicted that if we got flogged jordy would get lynched and patto would be redeemed on pre. Both these things have more or less happened.
have theynews to me.

mcmahon has copped criticism for a typical mcmahon effort. insipid weak spineless and skilless yep thats normal mcmuffin.the fact we draftyed him after 7 utterly ordinary seasons was mindboggling. the fact we drafted him for nothing more than his kicking skills borders on the insane.
pattison well im one who says picking him will just make matters worse. never a more unskilled dud have i seen. the fact we have kept him for a 5th yr has me shaking my head in utter disbelief.there are some golden rules that rarely ever get proven wrong pattison will not be one of those very small numbers that bucks those rules. shoulkd never have been picked and after 2 yrs should have been moved on.

Now there is a self-fulfilling prophecy.

By me or by Jordy?

Btw I would like to clarify that we are different people despite accusations by some on PRE. Although I would love to have Sanchez's run and carry ability I reckon I would have stuck some of the tackles he missed on the Thursday.

All of the above.

It wasn't a poke at you. McMahon is guaranteed criticism here, but he is also guaranteed to earn it.

He wont be dropped just wait and see!

He needs to be sent back to Coburg and learn to compete for the ball again. Leave him there until he learns!

I wasn't really serious mate, I don't really think an angry mob of Tiger supporters has literally gathered outside Jordy's house to string him up just yet. Although that may just be because you live to far away to organize a posse.

If thats the case then we wont see the muffin playing for the RFC again. ;D

This dud should never have been brought to this club and to think it cost #19 FFS.

I havent forgotten that and never will forgive whoever made that pathetic insipid decision.

It was Wallet who overuled Miller wasnt it, said he wanted the Muffin!!

Christ even Miller didnt want to do that trade ffs what does that tell ya from the king of trade disaters.

Disgrace.

Wasn't Wally defending him just a few short weeks ago?

Now he's dropped him first game back.

Says it all really doesn't it mate!

As for McMahon.....trade him at years end for a chance to grab a handful of burger rings from an empty packet!

DP19 would have been Scott Selwood, sigh, a tough player who doesn't shirk a contest and plays off half back. It hurts it really does. Instead we have got a player who represents and plays like a 14 year old girl......

Shocking, absolutely shocking. I would say worst trade decision we have ever made, thats how bad it was.

Thing with McMahon is, leysy doesn't even think its his intent.

He's just so bloody light he can never beat his opponent one on one. And he knows this.

He therefore plays wide. Very wide.

If he had done the work in the gym to get himself to a passable weight he would then build his confidence & probably make a player.

But at the age we recruited him he should already have been at that stage anyway.

no its that simple . Soft *smile* and that coming from me is pretty spot on....

Would people have felt better if we traded pick 19 for Morton and pick 35 for McMahon?

Not the point.

We traded pick 19 for Jordan McMahon. Thats the facts. The painful, depressing facts.

I've always maintained, getting McMahon was a "quick fix" decision by Wallace for the position of half back.
They couldn't get Casserly on the park and knew JoN was going to take alot longer than first expected.
Now the club finds themselves in a position where, 3-4 years of work may have failed miserably.
A similar story may be found with our search for a small back pocket player.
Names such as Rodan, Hartigan, Roach, Raines & King have all been tried.

Paints a grim picture doesn't it?

Even grimmer when you consider who we likely would have taken with that pick plays exactly that position.
