PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

In Bowden, Brown, Cousins, Johnson, Simmonds & Richardson we have 6 A/B grade players who are the wrong side of 31 by the middle of next season. If the gods are smiling and all 6 play anywhere near their personal best, I would say we have shot at being a really good team - perhaps not Geelong or Hawthorn good, but not a million miles behind. We should make the 8 and if the cards fall our way we could go top 4.

In 2011 when our window of opportunity supposedly opens, all these guys will be retired or shadows of their former selves.

I think our list is decently set up to have a sustained run in final series from 2011 however a lot would need to go right for the list to be in the mix for premierships. I personally think we will have lost too much A/B grade talent just as the new A/B grade talent is coming on stream.

So 2009 might be as big a window of opportunity 2011 & beyond. With a bit of luck I reckon it could be a 1995/2001 type year...but I have bought my GF ticket guarantee just in case lady luck goes our way!
