Where are the prophets of doom?

Sounds like that's a fair call but I'm sure you'd also say that given we are doing it with more and more kids that improvement is coming.

It's a very even comp claw.
Perhaps only Adelaide, Sydney & the WCE are indicating they are the teams to beat.
We could just as easily been 4-2 had we beaten the Aints and we should have too.
Who's to say the teams we beat will be the bottom 3 sides come seasons end. It's only rd 6...

The skill levels have been fairly poor particularly the goal kicking. Agreed.
However it's the willingness of players to back themselves that's leading to some of these skill errors. Certainly I prefer that method to the safe option. Bare in mind too that many of these kids are finding their way.
Stick to the gameplan TW. It seems to be working.

I'm happy we are where we are at the moment. Yes, our skills have to improve a little. Let's face it, if they kicked straight the last few weeks, we would have annihalated the opposition. Realistically, we are no diferent than half the other teams in the comp. We have to beat the cr@p teams and be at least competitive against the top sides. Having said that, if it was any other team than Richmond, everyone will be saying the good teams win the close games >:(. I don't care how bad it looks, as long as they outscore the opposition by at least 1 point, I'll be happy :)

I enjoyed each of the wins immensly, especially last night, but anyone who thinks those 3 wins prove the Richmond is 'capable of anything' is deluded. Our skills are horrendous - even when winning. We have beaten the BOTTOM 3 teams on the ladder by narrow margins. The only two positives are, 1) TW reconfirming that he is a good coach and 2) we are playing the kids instead of over the hill journeymen and reaping the rewards.

It was a great win last night. Particularly after we had what seemed a comfortable lead and in true recent RFC fashion got steamrolled by the opposition and looked as though we would snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, again. But, in a reversal of recent RFC tradition, the boys stuck tight , regathered momentum and dragged themselves across the line (ironically by kicking points instead of goals :P).

Anyway, it does seem we are finally heading the right way. But there is certainly a long way to go. Essendon, Carlton and Brisbane are extremely ordinary sides and won't be out of the bottom 4 or 5, at best, at year's end. Our decision making and skill level is very dodgy at the best of times. But at least there is the promise of some youthful talent who will get better and better with more experience. And that's where the upside lies; not with older players who have proven over many years they don't have what it takes to drag the club out of the doldrums. IMO, this has always been the major criticism levelled at the club by the so called Darkside or Prophets of Doom.

Well done Plough and keep blooding the kids. :clap :clap

Claw - have a long hard look at the Bombers this season - particularly their persentage 96.25% - they are 1 win (against the Swans currently 8th at Telstra) and 5 loses yet they have lost their last two games by a kick and the other three by 18 points or less and they have been against Brisbane by 18 points (currently last) at Brisbane  - no real guide, against the Bulldogs by 11 points (currently 4th) at TD, against Collingwood by 17 points (Currently top of the ladder) at the MCG, against Hawthorn by 1 point (currently 5th) at the MCG.

So the Bombers have been very competitive against 3 sides who are currently in the top 8 and beaten another who is in the top 8 - and we beat them.

That is a good win in anybodys language - the Tigers are now competitive - there are plenty more "surprising" wins in this Tiger team this year and of course because young footballers can run "hot and cold" we will cop a drubbing or two!

You of all people should be elated - you have been calling for youth all year - you now have it and we are winning - surely that vindicates your thinking!

Or are you miserable that Greg Tivendale is playing good football and is showing you were wrong about him - as you pick your dummy up from out of the corner take some solace that a majority on PRE felt the same way - me included - and - that your call for youth is proving to be right.

For *smile* sake smile - we have had a bloody good win!

Claw just cant be positive or happy. He would give up wins for christs sake. Why would you give u pa win? You play the game to win. Ridiculous. Wallace will improve our skills. Id rather us win every game with the worst skills in teh land. Wouldnt worry me one iota if we kept winning. I would stil lwant them improved, would want all aspects of our game improved, but you play to win no other reason.

It makes no sense that a side can have little or no skill and still win a game of football, especially after coming from behind. What should be said is that we have alot of raw talent that needs to be polished. Very good talent at that.
