PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

Lets look at where we are in relation to the top four.

Our list is still a fair way off having the quality experience and balance enough to consistantly beat the top four teams. So calls to pick up top up players are premature. We still need to develop our list with youth.

Geelong will probaly still the main force through to the end of next year with hawthorn starting to take over their mantle. The last thing we want to do is try to get into a tilt at the gf too early and end up like collingwood of 5 years ago just a couple of good players away from winning a flag but unable to get the draft picks to make the difference.

The way i see it is we need two more years of drafting youth paticularly in the areas of kpf and ruckmen then our window will begin to open, Then we will have the good core to be able to to top up with the right kind of experienced players and be able to maintain a 4 to 5 year window of opportunity.

We need to be patient, we have done it hard for many years so i for one am willing to wait another year or two to make sure our tilt at the big one results in 2 or 3 flags.
