Where is Terry taking us?

no you are wrong miller still is head of footy. its his job to make sure we have an overall plan and make sure we stick to it. while we have a dud as head of footy we will do what we have always done and thats drift from one crisis to another.

Its his job to ensure Cameron and Jackson come up with a plan not to do it himself. Unless you think they're going to sit back on their arses and do nothing then we should have a much more structure approach to building our list.

an example would be wallace wants another skinny flanker at pick 18 say its millers job to override wallace not camerons. camerons job is to build a structurally sound list and get his hands on the best players he can. if wallace wants a player he must go thru the right processes if that player does not fit our needs and criteria he should have been overridden by the boss miller. this clearly did not happen with mcmahon because miller has no idea.

Cameron wasn't there then, and from what some have said about draft night Miller wasn't in favour of getting McMahon. I would think such occurrences should happen less now.

Cartledge, Howat, Hyde, Jackson, Johnson, Mcmahon, Raines, Tivendale and Tuck are not going to take us any further.
Hughes, Myer, Oaklie-Nicholls, Silvester and White, I suspect are not going to do so either.

Our younger players should be given game time AT ANY COST.
I would be preparing to show Mcmahon and his mates in the first group, the door at years end, although I reckon that will involve some extra payments to them, maybe 1/2 of their contracted fees?

We should be bringing in the likes of Casserly, Collins, Connors, Edwards, Gourdis, Hughes, Myer, Oaklie-Nicholls, Polo, Putt, Rance and Reiwoldt. They will struggle but better they do it in 08, a year when we are meant to battle it out, than in 09 when we could be reaping the benefits of what happens now.

It doesn't matter if they 'aren't right physically.' There are lots of undersized mids running around. Get our kids in and waste no more time on the Cartledge to Tuck group.

We should also be preparing to offload Wallace at seasons end. We should ask him to prepare to go quietly for a discounted pre-arranged sum or tell him that when he finally goes at the end of 09 and a new coach has been appointed we will dump a bucket on him for both his greed and his ineptitude.

Against the Blues it is likely to be the same old hacks making the same well rehersed blunders.

Unless...

A team I would like to see asap is,

B Moore Reiwoldt Connors
HB Thursfield Rance Casserly
C Tambling Coughlan Richardson
HF Newman Pattison Pettifer
F Bowden Deledio Schulz
R Simmonds King Foley
Res Brown, Cotchin, Edwards and Morton
Em Gourdis, Graham, Hughes, Meyer, Oaklie-Nicholls, Polo, Polak and Putt.

Then I would think Wallace was serious about something other than saving his arse.

i pretty much completely agree with your whole post and your paper team as well

i'd give White a bit more of a chance and i definitely think jackson is the real deal but otherwise i think your post is spot on

richmond will have their afl license revoked and we will join the amatuers in vafa div 4 or club eighteen and win the spoon easily

maybe we should consider relocating to the gold coast or west sydney... the AFL would then give us draft and salary cap concessions and do everything possible to ensure we are successful... we can't seem to do it ourselves so maybe a little help from the AFL will get us out of this rut that seems to be never ending (i'm joking of course i will never accept us relocating)

i didnt say cameron was involved with getting mcmahon i used an example i do wish people would read posts more carefully.
if miller wasnt in favour of getting mcmahon he should have said no to the deal. as head of footy thats his job he has the final say when things go into dispute.anyway i think you will find greg wet his pants at the prospect of being part of a deal.

as i have said the trouble is we need every single person in the footy dept on the same page. they need to have a plan and a goal of where they all want the list structurally in 3 or 5 yrs time.
they should all then work to this goal. they should all stick to the plan.
quite clearly neither miller or wallace have been to concerned about list structure. and if theyhave concerns they have shown they have no idea of how to go about achieving it. wallace i can understand he has strong views on how he thinks the game should be played hes wrong and to pig headed to admit hes wrong, hence its even more important that the head of footy is strong and knows what he is doing.

???Terry, like Frawley before him,is suffering from Richo can all itis. This must be hugely frustrating for the other players as clearly it has been look for Richo or get rolled. When Richo was injured a few years ago Matty Rogers took up the forward post and our forward line performed the best since our halcyon days.Unfortunately,Matty also got injured.Richo should be played on the wing these days where he can contest the mark at both ends.Wallace should then istruct ALL his forwards to make positional play,so that the midfield has MORE options.I live in Geelong and saw first hand how Ablett disrupted the Geelong side at the time.I am convinced that they would have won two flags in that time had it not been for Ablettitis.A champion team will always beat a team of champions.I am sure Tommy Hafey would agree.

Terry and Miller are taking us towards Hardwick and Sheedy hopefully.

Hope your right Redders.
There won't be any 5 year plan with those guys.
Straight in get your hands dirty and get it done!

grunt and hard work are not enough in 2008 - maybe in 1978. its a different game these days
