Where is Thomas Roach?

only if he was as goos and determined and dedicated and as skillful as raines

And you know for sure that he is not as determined and as dedicated as raines? ::) While Tom may not make it as a player I'm sure he's doing everything he can. Not his fault if he doesn't have what it takes, what his surname is or where we drafted him. He got a call up and broke his jaw it'll probably take him a few weeks to get back into form, hope he proves all the doubters wrong.

I just checked and found out that Roach is still 20 years old ... Thought he must have been 25 the way that people were talking of de-listing.

I would have thought Stafford (will retire surely), Rodan, Gaspar, Chaffey, Tivendale (?) would have been ahead of him given his age.

Remember, we only have to delist 3 and I would have thought that 3 or 4 is the most the Tigers will delist this season.

I don't really care whether he's rookied or not, I just still want him at the club.  Would it be risky delisting him and giving another club the chance to pick him up?
Why would another club pick him up?

I agree with TG. He had the dedication and determination to go hard enough to a contest to have his jaw broken, so you questioning him on those things is a joke IMO. He also had 9 touches (0 errors), 4 tackles and a contested mark in less than a half of football before his injury. How different would people's perception of him be now had he not been injured and finished the game at that pace and collected 25 touches and laid 8 or 9 tackles? Obviously the match committee saw enough in him to give him a place in the senior side, so how does having his jaw broken lessen their opinion of him?

Exactly. Gonna wave your wand of player-condemnation over Roach the same way you apparently did with one Thursfield?

TG is right. Wait till he has a decent shot at a seniors berth before you start RayHall-ing him.

And felix, if we accepted mediocrity, Ty Zantuck would still be wearing a Tiger jumper.

I dont think Roach has shown enough to warrant another team picking him up, at least not yet.  I dont think determination or dedication is the issue.  I do agree that there are too many of the same type of players vying for the same positions. And Roach would currently be at the bottom of that list.   But the great thing is he still has opportunities, as TW will always give the young guys a chance, and we are only at Round 10.  Good luck to him, my prediction however is he won't make it, but of course hope he does.

Has he any brothers?  Tall like his father as a replacement for Richo in the future.

Cheers

Tom's career started with couple of handy games and then he had his head played with by Spud until he didn't know how to get the ball and what to do with it when he got it. Not on his pat malone there, see other late developers in Hyde and Pettifer who came good at late age after Spud left. Hopefully Tom can make it back but he may end up with no career due to Spud and some bad luck with injury timing.
