After that appalling result last night (15/2/08) where do the Tigers head to?

Usually a predetermined path is mapped out for NAB Cup losers by playing fixtures in regional or interstate towns. I can't see where Richmond is now to play.

Does anybody know?

It was disappointing to kick so few goals when, on paper, we have a pretty good forward line that should cause problems.

The defence is a worry....a BIG worry.
FAR too many easy marks inside forward-50 by the Saints.
It looked like we had no structure or plan whatsoever...players were all over the place. :-\

So where to next?
Get the defence right...Polak back there with Joel, Newman, and King
(JON is not a defender and should never play there....maybe anywhere...again)

I hope Wallace doesn't persist most of the season with Lids int he forward-line.
I have no problem him pinch-hitting down there but his main priority now should be in the middle.
Lids is 'our Judd' if you like and you didn't see the Eagles wasting his talents down forward until he ripped his groin.

So where to from here:

* Defensive training and a lot of it
* Lids in the middle

Spot on - plus I would add - change our game plan from this keepings off going wide rubbish - because we do not have the necessary skills to delivery the ball consistently to play "keepings off". It come unstuck all last year and it did again last night.

Long and down the corridor with big men at FF/CHF and goals sneaks at their feet forcing a contest when the ball hits the deck. This way the mid field does not have to think about delivery but just bang it long to the forward line corridor (everytime they think about delivery they get caught or make the wrong decision)

Back to basics..........

Exactly!
Been saying it ever since Walls took over and *smile* us right up.
That's why Northey did o.k with us....bang it long to Richo, Gale Edwards with a couple of crumbers (Daffy/naish).
So simple.

North won a couple of flags by getting it down to Carey/Longmire quick.

We stuff around with it too much and as you said, we don't have the skills to play like this.

BACK TO BASICS!

I guess the swear filter has exploded.

The defence was filled with inexperienced players, it will get better as more experienced players come back.

The forward line was beaten because Wallace was outcoached in this regard. As the TV commentators mentioned our forwards moved up the ground towards the ball, the St Kilda defence remained in position, therefore when we moved it forward we faced a wall of Saints.

spot on

we were getting killed in the middle of the ground too... although Monkhorst was working really hard with our younger ruckmen, constantly giving them advice whilst on the bench. Hopefully his mentoring will pay off. I was just sick of seeing all those silly free kicks being given away, which happenned far too often last night. Hopefully this isn't a sign of things to come in '08. I don't think it is anyway.

Fix the mid field 'cos that's where we lost the game. We simply cannot have Tuck & Johnson in the guts at the same time. They are too slow, and it frustrates me that Wallace can't see it.

I was hoping it would be at least August this year before I started relying on the 'Burg to lift up my crushed spirits, I was wrong
