I did a bit of a snoop around some old stuff during a clean up, and I think it's remarkable how far we've come in the past few years. Consider that in 2002, our senior list looked something like this:

Craig Biddiscombe
Joel Bowden
Leon Cameron
Wayne Campbell
Mark Chaffey
Mark Coughlan
Mark Dragicevic
Craig Ednie
Aaron Fiora
Darren *smile*
Ray Hall
Rory Hilton
Ben Holland
Scott Homewood
Adam Houlihan
Paul Hudson
Chris Hyde
Andrew Kellaway
Duncan Kellaway
Clinton King
Matthew Knights
Andrew Krakouer
Martin McGrath
Andrew Mills
Chris Newman
Brad Ottens
Kane Pettifer
Ezra Poyas
Matthew Richardson
David Rodan
Matthew Rogers
Greg Stafford
Gregory Tivendale
Jason Torney
Royce Vardy
Ty Zantuck

Since then, these are the players (some who've been recruited since 2002) we've turned over through retirements and delistings.
Aaron Fiora
Adam Houlihan
Alex Gilmour
Andrew Mills
Ben Holland
Ben Marsh
Bill Nichols
Brad Ottens
Clinton King
Craig Biddiscombe
Craig Ednie
Da Sipthorp
Duncan Kellaway
Ezra Poyas
Jason Torney
Justin Blumfield
Kyle Archibald
Leon Cameron
Luke Weller
Mark Dragicevic
Mark Graham
Martin McGrath
Matthew Knights
Matthew Rogers
Paul Hudson
Rory Hilton
Royce Vardy
Scott Homewood
Shane Morrison
Simon Fletcher
Tim Fleming
Ty Zantuck
Wayne Campbell

And these are the players we've bought in and kept:
Adam Pattison
Andrew Raines
Angus Graham (R)
Brett Delidio
Brett Hartigan
Cam Howat (R)
Cleve Hughes
Daniel Jackson
Danny Meyer
Dean Limbach
Dean Polo
Jarrad Oakley - Nicholls
Jay Schulz
Jeremy Humm
Kane Johnson
Kelvin Moore
Luke McGuane
Matt White
Nathan Brown
Nathan Foley
Richard Tambling
Thomas Roach
Travis Cassarley
Trent Knobel
Troy Simmonds
Will Thursfield

Of the players we've delisted/traded, very, very few of them have been the type of player who'd have got games for other clubs, or that we can look back on as "hurting" us. Obviously it's too soon to say the future of the club has been saved, but I think it's a very strong indication that we're heading in the right direction.

31 players been and gone. how does that compare to other clubs? surely not even hawthorn (another team who has had a total cleanout) has had as much list turnover as richmond in 4 years. amazing.

Good work there General Lee! :clap :clap

I'd say great work DG for GL. Wow, interesting to see really how much turnover has actually happened in the last few years. About time though ;)

Spot on General, that's one area we've done well in the last decade. Bond, Naish & Prescott gave Richmond good/
great service but were obviously near the end of the road when they left. It would've been great if we'd got Solomon (before knee) and Gilbee over the line.

general, the massive turnaround in our playing list was always expected.
There are two more things that still need to occur:
The first is consolidating our playing list with quality picks in the next two drafts. The second (simultaneoulsy), is to refine the list in accordance with keeping the right players and ensuring a successful succession plan is implemented.
