Wheres Mitch Morton ??

The Swans have a very good record of turning fringe players into very servicable players. Many have said it before but the Swans got a steal, fortunately we also picked up Maric for nicks, which evens the ledger.

I'll be judging the trade based on whether or not Morton is still at the club in 2-3 years time. No-one questions his talent, and he'll have a good year given he'll have to prove himself to everyone again (just like he had to with us). The question is whether or not he can keep the workload up in 2-3 years time.

Only NAB Cup but he looked good for the Swans in the first game. Had around 10 classy touches, gave 1 or goalsoff and kicked one himself. Already evident the Swans coaching staff have made improvements to his game. Will be good for them.

That's nice.

No it's not. He has played like that for richmond before, he kicked 40 odd goals one year.
Was it evident last week that the tigers coaching staff had made improvements in Addam Maric's game ?

I didn't see the game but I note from his zero tackles that not everything about Morton has changed

That can't be right because he gave away to free kicks, trying to tackle.
His usual in the back and the other one I can't recall.
He might be good for the them, but I hate Sydney!
How the hell did they get Sam Reid, what were we doing?? Ashbury???

Hmm. Just checked the draft listing again. We took Astbury at 35. The Swans got Reid at 38.

I presume that doesn't get counted as a tackle, but I didn't watch the game so I can't be sure

I liked Morton he can kick goals and he will probably get 30-40 this year and everyor will be bagging us for letting him go but in my opinion he's no great loss. I watched both games and he doesn't seem to have changed one bit, he still chases half hearted, if he does tackle he gives away a free kick and he very rarely tackles, still goes one handed when he shouldnt and stands around spectating when he should be doing something.

Morton was not a good fit for us, or the Eagles for that matter.

If he makes it at the Swans, good luck to him. Some players seem to have a much smaller niche in finding a club that suits them.

Have to agree.

Morton will always get found out when the going gets a bit tough. The reason he was moved on IMO.

Harwick recognised it early and gave him 2 years to develop some steel. Unfortunately Mitch was unable to change his ways.

Even more unfortunate for Morton is that he probably never will.
