Where's this bloody rookie profile?

Thanks for the update Rosy.  I recieved my email of notification today.  GM being away explains the delay, but is there nothing at the club this guy doesn't run?

too many cooks spoil the broth.

let GM run the football department
let TW run the players

We all can wait until the cows come home, but any organisation that takes 2 months & counting to acknowledge a donation is poorly ran. Don't try & argue the fact.
That poor IT guy- geez he is doing a wonderful job with our crappy bigpond site. Matt White, who is he?

There are such things as oversights. I'd hope that those making complaints here notified the club that they hadn't received any acknowledgement of their donation and asking for a check that it's been credited and they have your correct details.

well well well... someone at richmond fc must be reading PRE. i received my notification email today. :o

Why should we check with the club? It shows up on my our statements the funds have been withdrawn. It shouldn't be up to us to confirm. They should send us some electronic reciept.

We are improving in so many aspects as a club, but one where we are severly lacking is member communication, whether it be via internet, email, newsletter....whatever, it is very poor. I personally think as the club becomes more financially viable, this will improve rather than just have one IT guy running it, hopefully there will be a team of IT staff. The IT world isn't getting any slower or smaller, and the RFC need to keep up to date. Like I said though, I am happy to accept that it is poor at the moment due to insuficient funding.

You seem pretty upset about this Balmy.  If I was so concerned myself I'd check to put my mind at rest.  You ask me why should you?  I'm not saying you should or shouldn't, it just seems logical and easily fixed to me.

As I said it could be a simple oversight.  It could also possibly be an incorrect e-mail address.  It's amazing the number of people registering on here with  invalid addresses, i.e. leaving a letter out, adding .com.au instead of .com or just a typo with an incorrect letter.

I passed on the message about people not receiving conformation yesterday and was advised that e-mails were sent to a few immediately.

If anyone is still waiting, and doesn't want to make enquiries with the club,  feel free to pm me with your details and I'll ask for it to be looked into.

Whether it's good enough or not it's something that can be corrected easily if people want it to be.

My problem with it is we are donating money to the club. We shouldn't have to check if it's been processed. I know my funds were taken out a month ago by looking at my bank statement. If it was to another multi-million dollar business, I'm sure they would have a automated template/email setup to be sent out.

Like I said in the other post though, I hope as we become more financially viable, these things will improve and everything IT will be more member friendly.

had recieved an email from hayden within a couple of weeks from registering...payment was deducted not long after...so in my case all in all very efficent...but as with anything that was really put together quite quickly there was probably hiccups...and throw in xmas, and people having a break (greg miller) im sure it will be up and running in no time....

lets take the negatives from this first up attempt at doing this and improve on it for next year, its a great intiative that should become an annual thing for the RFC and its members....

eatemalive

I don't get receipts from most businesses I send payments to over the internet or by mail, so didn't expect one from the club. I got an email last year before the payment was deducted, and as the money came out of my account, that was confirmation for me that I was registered as a member of the rookie website. I'll be happy to see the rookie website up and running though!
