Who from the Golden Era of the Tigers would you put into our 2009 side?

Seems the query is on the term Halcyon Days (as opposed the Leysey Days :hihi ). 1967-1974....or 1967 to 1980? Hart, Bartlett, Lee, Green, Dean, Jess, Rowlings....so many, but on sheer class and bringing others into the game come on down:

Maurice Rioli

(if Simmo got injured...Mike Green without a doubt)

They, from our Golden era, were great, but they were a team.

Thought about various individuals to fill holes but in the end, no ONE Golden era player could guarantee success.

A team is a team, is a team!

Nice intellectual challenge though, Philster.

The FLEA is still an important part of our current and 2009 on-field performances.

Just ask the players how important he is. Its just a pity that he can't get a kick out there.

Plus we have a GOLDEN ERA triple premiership player at the helm to lead us into OUR next Golden Era......Terry Wallace.... and he wants to get a kick out there.

There is only one Richmond player in my 55 years of support that can fairly claim to have revolutionized the game. He was a midfielder who by virtue of his strength, speed and stamina created a new mould for mids and to whom players like Bucks, Voss and Bartel owe much.

While Bartlett, Bourke, Hart and Stewart can lay claim to have been more skilled, when it came to the last minutes and the need to do the extroadinary there was no one to match Billy. The truth is that in his day there was no one who could.

Very intriguing discussion and some great suggestions.
I guess I would also have said Royce Hart - from all the names I was going through from 67 to 80.
But I also loved the idea of Jack Dyer.

My old man always said Mopsy Fraser was Richmond best player, but he never played in any of our golden era's.

Disco and Richo would have made a decent forward line.
