I have finished checking exactly who did well in terms of games per player from all drafts since 2002. Just before I post the results, I thought I'd run this poll to see what the impression the media has given us all looks like compared to the actual draft results.

Which clubs do you think have drafted best since 2002?

Give me your top four.

I know I would have gone a bit wrong in this poll, but it will be interesting to see how much the media hype and actual results correlate.

I will post the actual draft result here: http://www.puntroadend.com/yabbse/index.php?topic=27901.0 after lunch.

I have also done a rough comparison of the draft result to how much that club spend on its recruiting department. I tell you what, there are some clubs out there spending a lot of money for small bickies in return!

Sadly this makes me realise how much interest I've lost in AFL. Wouldn't have a clue what other clubs have done/are doing.

There is an interesting article in the Age today by Waleed Ali, talking about how much footy fans have been systematically alienated.

He wrote what I was thinking on the weekend.

I realized that I now go to the footy about 60% less than I used to, and the reason was that I often went to the G on a Saturday afternoon, at 2.10pm, in the firm expectation of the Tiges playing.

Now on a Friday arvo when a colleague asks me 'So where are the Tiges playing?' I say, 'Well, I'm not quite sure, might be the dome, I think Sunday, but it might be 2 or 4 O'clock, this is if it isn't in Adelaide, probably a 'Matinee game' or something.'
