Theoretically we would have to give up the following for each corresponding player:

Akermanis- 2nd round pick @ $450,000 a year

Polak- 2nd round draft pick @ $175,000 a year

Brad Miller- Kayne Pettifer @ $225,000

Chris Tarrent- Either Cogs or Tuck @ $275,000 a year

Michael Gardiner- Gaspar or 3rd round draft pick @ $250,000 a year

Remember the tiges salary cap is reasonably tight and the more expensive the player the less likely they will be able to participate in the PSD. And the more restriction they will have on keeping all the young guns together.

I don't really want any of em.

one question though, is our salary cap really tight? I thought we'd just been paying the minimum allowable under the cap (92.5% or something like that) because our budget has been tightened to pay off debt. Am I wrong?

i don't know if its that low, but it is a bit under. but considering we have also had a list one player short of a full list the cap is relatively tight

That guy who is leading the VFL goal-kicking. He killed us when he played for West Coast.. Aaron Edwards i think his name is.... Any thoughts? (Beau Waters would look good in Richmond colours, just thinking out aloud)

I don't understand why you would have to offer anything for AKer? He's persona non grata at Brisbane, they have to get rid of him. Would've thougt the only hinderance (apart from his large amount of baggage!)we might have is cash. If the Tigers want to win flags the need to pay 100% and Stars would help too, but I don't want Aker at Richmond.

Out of that lot- Tarrant, at CHB!

Yep of that lot worth a punt at the right price I reckon.
Here's Dyer'eres thinking from another thread.

If ever a player (since C.Cornes) is looking for a move to CHB it is Chris Tarrant.

Wow that's thinking outside the box. :o

Ever seen a genuine defensive aspect to his game to give you that impression Jack?

Tarrant struggles to mark in the forward line because he's a bit undersized. With a couple (or more) of horrible backmen trying to spoil, hhe just doesn't have the body to hold them out so he skirts up to the wing to get some space.

Ben Holland did not have the atheleticism to provide a genuine marking tatrget up forward. But at half back (in his only fit year) he could mark at will. It's miles easier to mark at halfback.

Joel Bowden couldn't take a contested mark on the forward line to save his life. But he can take them on the backline.

Chad Cornes, whilst a talented #3 forward (playing FF, a lot like Tarrant for much of his career) didn't have anything like the impact on games that he's had since switched back. At his best he's one of the best CHB's I've seen. FWIW I believe the move of Cornes to CHB and James replacing Francou inside were the critical areas of improvement to PtA's Premiership.

Chris Tarrant would mark at will at halfback if he did a single preseason working on the slot. He's a smart footballer. Don't underestimate his brain. The Pies need him forward so there's no way they'd play him there. If you had a forward line this bloke just might set you up from halfback. He's the only bloke in the comp who can play the spot like C.Cornes. Admittedly maybe not as well but almost as well would be good enough.

The acquisition of Tarrant could give a side an opportunity to snare a game breaking CHB.

I'd be surprised if Jason commands that kind of salary next season.

none of them also, keeping looking greg and frank there are better ones out there just itching to be asked to come home to Vic.
