Who is our inspirational brave player now?

But the title of the thread Liverpool implies that our inspirational and Brave player WAS AK.   If AK was considered brave and inspirational then White, Raines, Deledio and Polo could be considered the same.

I agree with you though that we don't have a true enforcer, but AK wasn't that either.

Mate....is this some kind of psychoanalysis exam or something?  :hihi

The title of the thread is a simple question:
"Who is our inspirational brave player now?"

And, my simple answer is:
"No-one."

Kellaway (and Chaff) were brave in that they went back into packs......but they weren't inspirational, with sensational pieces of play that got the team-mates all pumped-up, or the crowd on their feet....say, like a Carey in his heyday.

And also....as good as White, Lids, Polo, Rainsey look.....I don't consider them brave or inspirational, at this stage.
Good players who will have a dip and take players on, yes......brave? inspirational? No.

You're talking champions - if you know where we can get one then please tell TW. We haven't had a genuine enforcer who scared the oppposition since Mark Lee, though he'd be lucky to play a dozen games a year with all the cameras these days. Free was a great captain and Turner and Staff have done their bit, but you're right. Our recent captains - Johnson, Campbell, Knights - have been good/arguably great players but not likely to make the opposition squirm. If Johnno retired tomorrow who would we give the captaincy to - Joel Bowden?

Agree with your point that we are physically soft in comparison to most other clubs and we'll be put to the test if we look like challenging the top teams. This has a fair bit to do with the balance of our list though. The physicality should come with maturity; it'll have to as soft teams don't win flags. Perhaps this is part of the culture that needs changing.

Another player that hasnt been mentioned is Weeble. Whats more inspirational then seeing a small 78kg kid take down a 105kg Rocca scum. Boy that was great ...anyone else remember that? ;)

Polo is allready our toughest player
Yep, I agree. Where's lamby when you need him to spruik Petts' case?!

1. i agree with polo

2. i'll spruik petts case: i read an article in the hun today and goodes claims he runs 13k per game according to the gps equipment. petts runs 18...

3. some people have suggested a few players in jest, but this is a real issue at the club that needs addressing. hartigan is one player that fits the mould but he may be on the way out...

AK was brave and flew blindly into packs. This is courageous and you could say inspirational. But he was never an enforcer in that he never intimidated his opponents in a hard nosed in your face manner (ie Archer, the Scott twins) and I had never noticed him stand up and help out a teamate in a scuffle. If anything AK was very introverted on the field in the heat of battle and would almost always back down from a confrontation. Players like Ray hall and kids in White and Raines showed much more inspiration in this area.
