Who makes way for cuz and cotchy. [Merged]

I'd drop Foley, he's not doing anything right now. I'd actually kick Nahas into roving along side Cotchin if fit. Newman's not doing much either, dropping the Captain and VC would be making a big statement that performance must be made. McMahon again he waits for the ball to be given to him, he doesn't tackle or go for the hard ball, goodbye.

Raines possibly in if he's starting to move again.

The forward line needs structure and tall's. Riewoldt is not a key position player, slightly too short and not enough muscle on his frame. schulz comes in at CHF, with bells ringing in his ears, last chance you've got 3-4 games to get your act together, with the midfield told specifically to mix up their targetting of the forwards, kick one to schulz, a long one to Hughes, another to Riewoldt and so on.

As for pushing Sydney, as Terry Wallace said before the game, the game would be won or lost in the first quarter. Our first quarter was simply shocking, particularly the opening 10 minutes. Wayne Campbell the midfield coach needs a rocket right up his backside, I still say get rid of him and give the job to Ben Cousins.

Pushing teams but losing, ain't winning, and its for damn sure the wrong attitude. The Richmond Playing List must learn to perform CONSISTENTLY, they must learn to work on their poor disposal skills and decision making, otherwise it will more of the same and pushing other teams to win, is nothing more than an excuse for losing a game that should have been won.

Everyone says JR is not big enough to hold down a KP but he's taller than his cousin so it maybe he just needs a couple of kilos on him to hold his ground in marking contests.

Bingo, he can't successfully hold down a KPP spot until he adds more muscle but he's certainly tall enough. If Patto and Graham rotate through the fwd line we need Schulz to come back in to give us 1 more marking option.

I have mentioned this awhile ago ... Ben Cousins after he retires from playing football should slot in as a midfield coach/mentor to the kids.

The mail I have is that the young players at the club just look up with respect and absorb what they can off him.

I hope RFC seriously sit down with Ben (sooner than later) and plan some long term goals with him. (playing then coaching) at 30 yo Cousins would know the window to play football is small & its a short term gig. Coaching is a long term gig !

Out- Richo, Morton, McMahon, White, Polo, JON.

In- Cousins, Cotchin, Brown, Simmo, Shulz, Pettifer.

Before people start convulsing at my ins (esp Pettifer).....

Our foward structure has been pathetic all year.

Morton has kicked just 9 goals in 6 games at 1.5 goals per game and he is equal to Richo as our highest goal kicker this year!!! He has been our main avenue during this time.....must be dropped to find some form. We have been playing with one tall (Richo) 70% of the game and one medium kid (Riewolt) still leaning the game and a bunch of flankers. No wonder we can't kick a winning score. We need more class in the forward line so that defenders don't find it so easy to zone off. Richards killed us yesterday because Morton couldn't get near it and Richards just zoned off and read the play better. Effectively we have been playing short one KPP in the forward line all year and 2 KPP for 30% of the time. We need some genuine talls to at least bring the ball to ground with some class finishers to mop up (Brown, Cousins, Cotchin, Nahas).

McMahon only plays well when we win. He is incapable of winning his own ball, tackling or disposing under pressure.

White and Polo have both played fairly well this year but I don't see much further improvement in their games. They will probably stay on our list but will move aside as a better class of youngsters come through. Players like Cousins and Cotchin are automatic selections over these two.

JON is the hardest to drop IMHO as we have'nt seen his best yet and his last two games have showed glimpses of something that could turn into something quite special.

The Ins-

Cousins/Cotchin all class, no chance to get match fit at Coburg. They are not injured and with the rotations should play across HFF.

Shulz- Kicked bags in recent weeks. Gets his last chance for the next 2 weeks with no Richo.

Simmonds- to play forward, smash some packs and ruck forward. Coburg form deserves a recall and with Graham and Patto showing good signs we get the luxury of a extra tall forward.

Brown- Still a class player who out of a pocket causes headaches. TW has been plying him up the ground and unfortunately he is no longer fast enough and doesn't have the tank for it. Would get a game in the FP for most teams.

Pettifer( Well here goes)- Is obviously in great touch- Kicked a bag for Coburg Reserves and then backed up with 33 possessions and 2 goals for Coburg. Is a genuine goal kicker, has good size and should add another option the out of form Morton is not providing.

Nemwan Moore Rance
Bowden McGuanne Tambling
Collins Jackson Deledio
Cousins Simmonds Pettifer
Brown Shulz Riewolt
Graham, Tuck, Foley
Int- Patto, Coughlan, Cotchin, Nahas

Lol I could imagin that call up
Terry: "Hi Coburg 3rds you need to find yourself another under achieving, uninterested forward as we need this mercurial tallent in the RFC to kick it up a gear and get to them finals. Thanks a bunch"

I don't know why people are so eager to get rid of White. He is running hard and doing a good job. Get rid of JON as he has no idea what to do with the ball once he gets it. Get rid of McMahon and drop Morton to find some form. Bring in Cuz, Cotch and Raines. Cotch will be fine. He was only down for the Burgers because he was sick. Rainsy may not hit the target every time but he is the only player when things are looking grim to break the lines and create play. He doesn't drop his head which is something you can't say for anyone else in that side. Give him time to get it right.. you can't just disregard him and hope were lucky enough to snafoo some quality half back flanker in the next draft.

In: Simmo, Cuz
Out: Richo, Morton

Simmo to play 2nd ruck/CHF rotating.
Cuz to play HF / Middle.

Schulz - needs to be really told that senior spots are not gifted.
Cotch - not ready yet.
Raines - see Cotch.
Morton - needs to be told to get some hardness and intensity in his game.
JON - stick phat for a month to see if he's got it in him.
McMahon - ask him if he'd like another run at Coburg.
Hughes - play him rounds 18-22 to try and up his trade price.
Post - still not ready
Vickery - will need another pre-season
N.Brown - who?

OK Hughes needs to come in he maybe donw in the 3rds but i think that is a plow to keep him hidden, u want to see heart back at tigerland, play Polak this week against Lions, the team will ift, im mean *smile* richo last 2 weeks hasnt played 4 qtrs so we get 10 to 15 minute qtrs out of Polak it will lift the others... Pettifer can kick outside 50 and thats where goals are needed , we mark well out there its getting inside 50 we have probs. Cotch and Nahas that would bring heat to midfield. We can all bag Campbell but none of us can stop the inevitable He will be coaching Richmond next year.. one of the fav sons.. Im not saying i want him to coach but the writing on the wall is so dam obvious ...

Now just a minute Cambo, this is not the forum for putting out your resume, it needs to go, when/if asked, to Punt Road Richmond not Punt Road End.

Agree with Schulz but if Patto and Gus are going OK ther's no room for Simmo. Keep him as a back up ruckman and try to qualify him for VFL finals.

Nothing really to do with the thread, but how is Post coming along ? I haven't heard much of late

Cuz apparently played about 10 mins per qtr; that's 4o mins game time in total !!!
I think he should play close to a full game before being considered for selection.

Everyone jumps up and down when Tambling didn't have enough sleep, Richo decided he was right to go, Foley's groin may be suspect, Brown playing sore, Simmo not 100% e.t.c.

And you want to bring in a bloke who has played 1/2 a game of footy after having a moderate hamstring injury ???
Maybe it's me, but i just don't get it. ???

He played in 10 minute blocks. Played closer to 80 minutes and did more than enough collecting about 30 possessions. Benny plays firsts or you delist him. You dont play Cousins at Coburg - he dont belong there!

Agreed one game to test the hamstring then in the 1sts he would rack them up on one leg same with Cotchin if fit play him.

Benny might have got more touches than Cotch but the Chimpa's were all quality. Many clearances where he extracted the ball from outta nowhere and took off. Most of Cousins' touches were linking up in open space.

Cotchy's were all quality and of more value in my book. Only fitness keeping Cotch outta the seniors this week.

Agree RS, Cus waz qualities above VFL and Cotchin was better than Cuz. Trent Comes in too. He looked sharp ran Ok and with speed when necessary. If he is physically OK he plays too. 50 minutes from Trent is better than wahat most of the list can provide over 100 minutes.
