Cousins and Cotchin in, I'd drop Nathan Foley and put Nahas in as Rover. Keep Morton in the forward line, he got bugger all of the ball against Sydney but he was starved of opportunities due to lack of supply from up field. There were 3 occasions when upfield kicked to Richo who had 3 Swans all over him, whilst Morton was 30 metres away, 10 metres clear of a Swan defender.
Bit unfair to blame Morton, who has been a pretty consistant contributor forward wise when the ball gets near him.
*smile* is in at CHF, Hughes at FF, Thursfield at FB, Raines BP. No point in not playing these guys, they are on the list, Raines should be fit now, Cuz and Cotch likewise and ready to go.
For Richmond to beat Brisbane, they need Thursfield on Brown. They need Cuz, Cogs and Cotch in the midfield, Delidio on the wing. They need tall KPP forwards, *smile* and Hughes as well as Riewoldt, plus Morton, Nahas, Nathan Brown (big call given his groin soreness), basically they need to get these players on the field.
If Hughes can't play, I'd play Simmonds at FF, he's tall, has bulk and he's reasonably mobile, can take a contested mark and if he kicks it straight, then there's goals to be had. He could even do a little bit of relieving ruck work in the forward 50 arc.
With the names mentioned to play up forward, that gives the midfield a diverse range of targets to choose, *smile* at the 50 mark, Hughes/Simmonds down in the goal square, with Morton on one flank, Riewoldt the other flank, and the crumbers sitting under them if the ball hits the deck. It would then stop the Brisbane Defenders from putting numbers back on a particular player, in other words forcing them into one on one contests, which is something Richmond must learn to do game in game out if it wants to win.
