Who was this player?

I can't remember the name of this player that played for Richmond. There was a particular incident that made him famous, which my grandfather told me about. Apparentally he was backing back with the flight of the ball and got absolutely crunched, and the ball fell out of his hands, and he was knocked unconscious. The umpire called play on, but the ball was stuck underneath this guys body. He got jumped on by an opposition player, and the umpire gave holding the ball. But he was unconscious!

I don't know the answer to your question sorry t7 but I remember Ash Prescott being charged for time wasting while he was unconscious on a stretcher in a game at Carlton.  I wonder why they withdrew the report. :

Yep unconscious on the stretcher and was charged for time wasting because those carrying him didn't take the shortest way off the ground or some ridiculous reason.  THat game is one of my all time favourites.  Much watch the video again over summer.
