who will be delisted?

Talk of trading Newman? Grrrrrrrr.....
Hartigan shows real promise too, why trade him? I reckon' all this crap about his poor disposal has been blown completely out of proportion.

TW said a month ago now that around 10 changes will be made - could they be -

Retired
Campbell
Graham

Traded/Delisted
Morrison - not TW's cup of tea
Hartigan - not up to AFL Finals footy
Hilton - same
Hyde - same
Krakouer - silky skills great tackler no motor as he is not in enough contests
Newman - not up to AFL Finals Footy
Tivendale - same

The final number will depend on who we pick-up during the trade period, who that costs us and then what type of player we have too many of.

I do agree re Chris Newman..and Chris Hyde for that matter...I've been fans of theirs for a few years but they just really aren't up to it. Newman gets cheaps possies in the backline and his skills aren't as good as you might think with his left foot. I know he just about won us the game against the Swans but you have to look at the big picture. Try and trade at least 1 of them.

Thats what I though about Hartigan until I watched closely yesterday. His disposal and decision making was very poor.

There was some ordinary disposal yesterday but he has been getting plenty of the ball lately & has shown TW that he is up to it.

My tips are;

Retirees :
Campbell & Graham (as confirmed)

Delistings;
Morrison - Don't like any other club would be interested. Not ever Carlton or Collingwood
Moore - hasnt done much and goes missing in the seniors. Don't think he'll attract interest from other clubs

Trade Bait
Tivendale - Wallace mentioned on White Line Fever last week he was disappointed with his year
Schulz - if a decent trade is available, he may go
Hyde - again only if a decent trade is offered. Played brilliantly until injured and then went missing

Will be interesting to see what happens to Stafford. Injury riddled 2 years. Aging and with Knoble and Simmonds doing well and Pattison due to gain more time next season, should Staff be offered a contract, would only a one year offer.

No way will Richmond consider trading Foley, Newman or Hartigan.

Foley was selected against St Kilda in rd 5 and tore a hamstring. Played some great games for Coburg and showed some class. Foley is still 19 years of age and groomed to be a class midfielder. When Foley did play in the seniors, was given little game time.

Newman is 23 year old and averaged 15.7 possessions a game. Not a bad effort for a backman. Plays with real guts and always putting his body on the line. One of our best defenders who has to give away height every match. Always doing to 1%ers such as tackling and chasing. Averaged 3.3 tackles a match. Hard nut defenders are hard to come by. Newman also averages 5.7 rebounds out of our defensive 50. With 76 games until his belt, Newman is one of few players in the 21 - 27 year old bracket Wallce has informed we are lacking.

Hartigan has his fair share on injuries and only 20 years old. While all would agree Hartigan had a better 2004, a injury free pre-season will prove Hartigan has alot to offer. In 2004, Hartigan was a rare shining light.

I dont think we should delist Archibald. One more year.
He is big and bigger players take longer to mature and develop into their body. I can just see if we give him away, he will go on to star at another club.

One more year more Archy. Should improve next year with a pre-season and being a year older.

Conisdering that TW himself named Newman as one of the improvers this year along with Tuck and Pettifer and his lamenting about the side's dearth of 22 - 26 year olds I can't see him being traded and I don't understand the fuss about Hartigan. This is his 2nd year people! And he's accomplished far more than most of our 2nd year players already.

Looks like stafford will play on and tivendale and morrison are up for trade bait

If we get a trade for Morrison I will shout a round of drinks for all PRE's at the London Tavern after our first win of the 2006 year whilst wearing a Tiger outfit.

He will be delisted for sure. No other AFL club will be interested.

Interesting that Brisbane couldn't secure a trade for him when we picked him in the draft. I think Brisbane were playing strong hardball on him though. If we are willing to take whatever is offered for him, we may be ok.

I have heard the Devils would love to get Morrison to come down here next year if they could. He's obviously a very good player at VFL level so I imagine a lot of VFL clubs will be keen to try and recruit him.

Morro has a definate short career available to him in the VFL ;).  Whether he wants to return to QAFL remains to be seen.  Fair dinkum, why would you stay in Bleaksville when you can come back to the Sunshine ;)  But I for one no longer expect to see him in Yellow and Black.  He had a go  -  he won't die wondering now!  He can thank his dad for pumping his tyres.

Pleased that Staff may continue - OK he's not front line anymore, but get 75% of that and he's handy!  Stuns me that Hawthorn gets so much value from Spider - virtually a solo Ruckman - and we've got nothing like that yet, so Staff is required

Time to go - Greg Tivendale.  Best for him and the club.  Prefer a trade if possible or paid a lot less!

If Archibald didn't get tried in these last few weeks - gone, gone, gone.  Would have liked to see him in action, as some ppl reported him to be handy, if not underskilled.

Kel Moore.  Just doesn't seem to fit, does he?  He kicked a couple in one game, but generally didn't look a part of the team.  He's delisted I think!

Finances and so much youth have already been stated by RFC as reasons for more list stability this year.  So will they turn over some kids for more kids then?

I guess we'll have a better idea next week!

Well at this stage it seems we will retire Campbell and Graham, delist Morrison and offer Tivendale for a trade.

If Foley stays on the list that may give us three selections at the draft. Perhaps we will be offer Tivendale for an upgrade of our draft pick. Perhaps pick 24 could become pick 20 and Tivvers could head to Optus Oval.

That would also mean that Thursfield will stay on hte rookie list.

But I have to say I think there will be more delists after the trade perios and we are playing our cards close to our chest.
