Punt Road has gone very quiet on this topic of late.

It could mean one of two things. Possibly someone has been appointed but is working for another club and can't get out of his current contract until after the trade and/or draft period. The alternative is that everyone approached has knocked back the job, probably because they are used to bigger bucks at their current club.

Now that all the coaching jobs are sorted, there could be new blood in the mix. Personally, I think it could be a good role for someone like Neale Daniher. He has a reasonable coaching record already and a couple of years in this sort of role could be very beneficial for him, rounding off his experience and skill set for another tilt at coaching. He could probably work in the media at the same time anyway.

Thoughts?

I'd be happy with anyone that prioritised key position players, inside mids and ruckmen.

Apparently negotiations with evo have been very difficult.

Is he still hanging out for that free pie and bucket of chips at every match he attends?

You'd reckon he'd be happy with the all the beer you can drink at half-time offer!

If the list manager only negotiates the contracts I'm not sure it's something we can't live without for another month or two.

If the list manager makes decisions like - we don't need another LMID or our list is underweight - it may already be too late to appoint one.

No news is good news. Although we were pretty gung ho about the appointment and were going to source the best person for the job. And is that phrase a cop out? Whom ever gets the job is going to be announced as our first choice when in it highly likely that three or four knocked it back. My only wish is that no ex-coach gets the job. Let's get someone who isn't trying to sneak into the drivers seat.

I will get bagged for saying this but Wayne Carey would be perfect for this job, not scared to tell it what it is, i know he's arrogant and smug but he wouldnt hold back and knows how important kpp are. Next choice would be John Longmire or Peter Sumich.
