Who will we beat this year?

We beat both last years grand finalists, at their home grounds in 2006. How bizarre.

Nothing amazing about that. IIRC we beat Adelaide back in ? at AAMI, that's when Blight walked the boundary early and 'Pathetic Pittman' was born.

I don't think you'd see it happen very often (in any sport) that the eventual wooden spooner beats the 2 finalists at their home grounds in the previous year.

I've made a conscious decision this year not to be too concerned about how many we win or lose. (It should be cheaper in smashed TV's at least! :) I'm just going to support my beloved Tiges and enjoy the matches for the spectacles they are! If we win a few, all the better :D

we beat the roos in 2006 in the fog at the G. Meyer kicked a ripping goal at the punt road end!
I was there, it was absolutely *smile* freezing and they gave me an early birthday present by winning.

Like last year we have the potential to beat anyone on our day, bar Geelong who are just too good in the competition at the moment. There'll be a few surprises this year.

one can hope craig. i have a feeling a few of the kids will demand spots anyway.

I would be very happy to see a year devoted to player development too, and agree with C and C that it wont happen... :'(

Such a bleak picture painted here.. ;D

My prediction is we'll beat the following teams in order we play them.

Carlton - Job done - WIN !
Nth Melbourne
Colling.. (Scumwood)
Fremantle
Dogs
Dawks - emotional factor game 1pt win.
Bummers
Adelaide
Melbourne
Carlton
Bummers
Lions
Adelaide
Dawks - meltdown factor game. Another 1 pt win
Fremantle
Melbourne

Thats 16 wins for the Home & Away & into the finals we go !

the yr is not truly about winning any games this yr for me.

imo its so so importnt that all of connors edwards collins cotchin casserly riewoldt tambling meyer king deledio hughes rance thursfield graham white king raines and morton. are played as much as possible. the yr is truly about finding out if these kids can play and can overcome deficiencies.play them as much as practicable.and lets focus on the little things no more selfish footballers .tackling chasing shepherding gut running to create etc lets see them play for each other if they do they dont need to win a game we know where they are at both in development and structure.

Spot on claw, but absolutely no chance of that happening!! Remember, Wallace is coaching for his career and will have a 0% policy in regards to development. He will throw all our BIG GUNS in this year. The likes of Tivendale, Hyde, Johnson, Bowden!!!! We all know once we rely on players such as these we will win maximum 2 games for the year. Looooooooooooooooong season ahead.

I agree with you, but do hope this is wrong. These guys have been played and played and played, and what have they done? I think you are right about Wallet as he will be trying it all to save his BACON :hihi

Carlton, Essendon, Melbourne, Bulldogs, Adelaide are the teams in my mind that we can beat.

We could get a few other wins. I'm tipping around 8 wins for the season

If you get that many wins, you can safely add another 3 due to hype and momentum. THats 11 wins. THats a 9th finish. Again!

Not sure why everyone thinks we will beat North Melbourne. Where did they finish again last year??? Who of significance have they lost for the entire season? They will be pushing top 6 top 4 in my humble opinion. Just because they dont have 2 cents to rub together everyone always thinks they are on the slide. They don't have to many superstars but they are well coached and play for each other. To use a common term on this site "sheesh" (apologies to claw and everyone else that uses the term sheesh) :)
