Who'd you rather be playing tomorrow?

Who would we be more of a chance against in a hypothetical Round 1?

Hawks...we match up reasonably well against them and came away with a win and a narrow loss in the last starts. We struggle matching up against the Cats.

Where's the challenge in coming up against a side we match up well against and had a good win over last time? I'd rather see us beat the Cats. They've had it over us for many years and I'd like to see that change.

Besides, I hate the Cats more than the Hawks.

It'll hurt more if we lose though.

The Cats are the better side. They cracked under pressure in the final. Saying that Hawthorn have the improvement ahead of them. I agree, there are some teams you just dont match up well against. Geelong are one of those. Hawthorn on the other hand I dont think there is a huge difference in style of play. Hawthorn happen to have a couple of gun forwads and a better all round team and execute better but the Tigers have a vastly improving young list. The real test will be the handover which will mean the retirement of Richo, Brown, Cousins, Bowden, Johnson. Will the current crop of more experienced youngsters come up to the plate allowing the next batch to mature in time for a good tilt at top of the ladder finals footy.

You're answering the question as to who you would rather beat...I agree, I would much rather beat the Cats. The question was who would you rather be playing tomorrow...I would say the Dawks on the basis that we are more likely to beat them ;)

To be the best you have to beat the best. I can never understand people who would prefer us to play weaker opposition over stronger teams. I'd rather see us consistently play better teams to ensure our players get the experience and understanding of what it really takes to win a flag.

So I'd say I'd rather play the Cats, because right now, I think they are some way ahead of the Hawks.
