Who's going to the cocktail party?

Well the Macktiger was there, all frocked up with a dashing new hairstyle.....

Walked in and was extremely disappointed (infact pretty @#$@# off) that there was no one at the door to check who you were. I could of bought with me about 50 mates and no one would be none the wiser.......so why RSVP.

A member of my family did not attend as RFC told them the dress standards were strict, however the amount of no tie, no jacket people coming in was disappointing aswell.

Don't get me wrong it was a great night with plenty of tiger faithful, however I just didnt feel special with all the 'freeloaders' attended and were not entitled to.

Yep, finally recovered enough to add some input. Great night again, although was extremely surprised yet again that no id checks were conducted on entry...what a waste of $50 to get my guest in!!! Anyhoo, bar service was poor at best....food was good and all the players were approachable. The only one I found not so pleasant was a certain Mr Limbach....only saw him posing with the ladies all night. When asked to sign a guernsey he looked quite miffed at me!!!!! maybe I should have loosened my tie and presented him with some cleavage?? Still all in all a very good night, sampled a few more bars and beverages after the event...had many a discussion with the faithful at said venues. Managed to pour myself in to a taxi around 4:00 pretty happy with myself. Looked for some PRE's but alas couldn't find any on the night!!!

I think its always been a Bronze/Silver/Gold night, but I think because more and more people are qualifying for Bronze status, that the numbers for nights like last night will grow, not go down (or even stay constant).

Bronze members don't get an invitation (in my particular case neither do platinum).  The night is for silver, gold, platinum and yellow and black member categories.

Had to laugh at a richmond lady wearing the full richmond garb going up to dean polo for an autograph and asking him "are you patrick bowden???"

Oh lord!! Not the duffle coat with 500 badges and a club cap over a black tracksuit? :'(

I imagine l'l attire in a simple black suit and an RFC tie.

No need to be obvious whom you barrack for at a club function is there?

He was probably under instruction not to sign any jumpers,as it'd be more than a little unfair for the person who paid for the right to his signed jumper for the auction wouldn't you think??

I'd be surprised if that was the case. Anyone can get jumpers signed but they're not the jumpers the players actually wore, that I presume also come with a COA when auctioned.

Nope,no certificates.

Im not so sure that they're even matchday guernseys, and according to CC Tigers post in the Dean Polo dreamtime guernsey thread, each player was issued 2 jumpers,so unlikely they're genuine articles either.

Had a great night at the cocktail party must have been the lovely company i was with. Mind you I reckon last years was better-alot more drinks and I thought the auction items were better last year as well. Heaps of photos and chats with a couple of the players. Dean Polo, Matty White really nice young lads and didn't mind having their photo taken with the old gals ;D

I'm mum of the year at the moment, mind you i'll be the *smile* from hell probably tomorrow. I bought 2 Deledio photos and got Brett to sign them for my two daughters, the look on their faces was just awesome, they just couldn't wait to go to school today and take them for show n tell. Even a Collingwood supporter in the 10yr olds class wanted the photo, she said no way as it was priceless.

My thanks to the great company I had last night, as well as to those I hadn't met whom I now have - however briefly.  ;)

Highlight? Speaking with Weeble and finding out what an utterly lovely young chap he is. So many players seem hellbent on ridding themselves of you at the soonest opportunity, gentleman Nathan actually made conversation with me, knowing I'm the 'Weeble Woman' and all...  :D.  May the reign of our current numero 41 be a long one; it's so refreshing to find some deoth of character and genuine "G&D" in a modern footballer.

Lowlight? Save for the red wine running out around 7:30 or earlier (;)), being outbid on Nathan's jumper. Still, that it became so exxy should is, I guess, a good thing - I just hope it wasn't purchased by some speculator who'll lob it exorbitantly onto eBay before I can blink.   ::)

Cheers!
Ms Tantie.

I had a chat to Foley as well, he was very nice, loved hearing him say with genuine passion how magical it would be to beat the Saints.
