Why is it year after year we always have massive injury list? is it poor list managment? is it the lap of the gods? or is it our fitness staff? surely we cant have that much bad luck every year? is it an option to look at injury prone players to delist or at least trade? Injury is a poor excuse for on field performance, but we have to be closest excuse for it

We have been unlucky with breaks ,I remember TW saying last year that we had hda 20 odd broken bones in his time at the club

It's having to train on hard grounds like Victoria Parks that is doing it :upside :upside :upside All this spinning is confusing me :duh

We are no more injury prone than anyone else. It is just that some consider it the end of the world when we get a couple of injuries.

Are we getting botched surgeries ?? Coghlan knee slip in shower excuse sounded very strange when the original excuse was the repair hadn't healed properly, Thursfield still not right (injury happened 12 months ago), Knobel ankle is a never ending saga....

We are hard hit by injuries due to our lack of depth.  The good clubs have the injuries but can cover them and remain competitive.  We're gradually working towards that.

Spot on Rosy, not so much the injury list as the lack of depth to cover them that makes it look worse.

Just as Caged Tiger said...it's that damned Tiger Skin. Chuck it, skin a bit more, burn it, or give it to the dog to chew on.

It requires more than that graystar, it was once was a living powerful beautiful beast. It deserves a burial with respect and honour. Anything other than that leaves a stench of death in the air - bad karma. It's just open season on us when one of our symbols is a gutted, disembowled, skinned tiger - it needs to be put to rest.

I don't agree we have been hit harder because of lack of depth. Look at the players who were seriously injured even before the season started - Coughlan, Brown, Simmonds, Knoble and to a lesser extent Richardson - all walk up starts when fit - all play key roles in the team structure - all whose shoes are difficult to fill. To all be injured so early in the season is a more than just your average bad luck - I guess some team has to be above average and this year we win the prize in this category. Bury the the Tiger Skin I say!! :pullhair

Wrong move people, all our players should be made to don the tiger skin and wear it like a cloak for a day or two and draw on the strength that resides in the skin, just as was done by the warriors of all the ancient cultures.

Yeah, poor old Richmond and it's injury list - check out Adelaide's at the mo. Every club, every year has injuries. Going from soft to hard is always gonna cost ya ;)

Well put, TM!

This picture was taken in 1967 - note: 1967 and I don't seem to recall it brought RFC any bad luck - except for poor old Crowe! Of course, there was a rumour that he was heard muttering something about "bloody tiger rug" so maybe he brought it on himself.

Honour the tiger skin is what I say!

i can accept getting injuries, it's part of the game, but why is it always our stars that get seriously injured nstead of our duds? i was shattred when i heard browny had another setback...

What he said. I think it's because we naturally tend to look at it in terms of only Richmond. If you go through the league the injuries are comparable. Probably the worst hit by injuries last season was the Bulldogs and in a way that has benefited them to a certain extent for allowing them to develop more depth across their list.
