Why does just about every player we've picked in the last 10 years fail to develop into quality AFL players?
Why has ( from the current list) Raines, Polo, McGuane, Oakley Nicholls, Jackson, Schulz, Pattison, Tambling, Hughes, Graham and King failed to develop?
Why is it that I see Jack Riewoldt, Shane Edwards, Matthew White, David Gourdis just to name a few heading down the same path?
Then there's the plethora of players we've drafted that we've moved on that also failed to develop ( dont have time to list them all!)
Our players seem to reach a "5 or 6 out of ten" level then never progress, why? Why does a Brett Deledio fail to become the quality AFL player he should be? It's been 5 years now! Come on, no more "he's just a youngster".
You would think that just plain dumb luck would provide us with a blue chip AFL player, Cotchin may end up being it but history doesn't auger well for him!
Is it our lack of development, is it culture, is it we continually draft the "wrong" player, is that they never develop because they continually play in a losing side?
