PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

There are a few on here who allegedly have privileged sources and claim superior knowledge of all things Richmond and I'd really appreciate them telling me why Joel Bowden is languishing at Coburg for so long.

When he took over Jade said the team would be selected on from but I reckon his nose grew longer with that one. If form was the criteria Joel should have been back in ages ago.

To me Joel is a role model Tiger in many ways and I just can't fathom why he'd be treated with such disrespect. Reading a recent interview it seemed he was bewildered by it all, and I certainly am too.

Joel is a dual best and fairest winner and a duel All Australian. He's paid the price for inept list management and coaching many times regularly having to front up against the giants of the competition despite not beign physically equipped to do so.

He is versatile, and if he can't slot into our backline as some claim, and that's a joke imo, he can play many other positions.

I don't believe our team is so good that we can't treat a champion of our club with due respect. If for no other reason Joel should be selected on form, yet he's been running around in the VFL for a couple of months.

Far too many past Tigers have left the club in less than ideal circumstances and have been shunned rather than embraced. I hope Joel isn't added to that list. :(
