I’m hoping TW is using this week’s game as the “crunch ball” game.
This is a game that could shape not only our season but have a lasting impression on our future. We have a young and developing side that is meeting a strong team that has been established for a fair while now. And they will be in waiting for us after last week's embarrassment.
It’s a game where we have a chance to break a long-standing hoodoo and send a premiership favourite into oblivion for the season. Yet all the while, nobody is giving us much hope. Its a huge challenge but its one of those games imo that is a great opportunity to send a clear message to the rest of the competition that the Richmond Football Club truly is on the upswing.
I was told by a very famous coach once, who indoctrinated this at his footy club:
Good teams end other team’s seasons when they get the opportunity.
We’re up against it, but Richmond has a chance to do this on Saturday.
It won’t be the end of the world if we don’t, but if we do, it’ll be a tangible sign that we really are on the improve as a club.
