I was thinking today (I know I have to stop that), and it occurred to me why all the focus on Sheeds. Other than the RFC ties, what does he have that the other potential ex-coaches don't have?

Most acknowledge Sheeds and Wallace may be two big egos in one small room, and may be unworkable.

If they dont get coaching gigs, Daniher and Connolly may be more workable in a football role at the club.

Personally I am wondering about Pagan. Had huge success with building a list of kids in the Kangas under 19's, and showed he can work with the egos of the world in his time at the Essendon reserves. Im not sure how his relationship with Miller was, but given they were together as long as they were together I assume they work together okay.

Also Pagan is clearly a guy with unfinished business, but basically no chance of getting another senior gig. Means he is hungry for the result (esp to prove Carlton was a one off) but humble enough not to pull a Grant Thomas on us.

So what do others think of Pagan as a list manager? Still not 100% sold myself, but nice to think about something other than Sheeds :)

Not sure if I have posted this in the past, but although Pagan was great in his early years as a junior coach when actually coaching youth, his stint at Carlton he really did not spend time with the youth, to the point he was like a ghost to them.

He played his favourites and there was discontent in the ranks. Had this told to me about 18mths ago.

But in saying this, if he given a specific task as a full time player manager & training of the youth it would be unwise not to consider him and this is a great suggestion & with Miller & Pagan the two work exceptionally well togerther. Add King we would be capturing the great talent of the Kangaroos of the 90's assisting th Tigers
