Why Patto is better than everyone thinks...

Another Greg Miller recruiting disaster.Hard to believe we took him as a 1st rounder.Trys hard & plays the occaisional good game.

I'd have Patto ahead of Simmonds in a heartbeat. I am a fan and believe he will be an important part of our forward structure in the next 2-3 years.

Yeah, but you have actually mentioned keeping him for 2 years twice as well though.

I could only find this one which is hardly an unequivocal endorsement for keeping him until the end of 2011 regardless of his and the other ruckmen's form.

That's the sticking point I guess. If we can trade him then by all means, why not? But if no one want to take him then it's going to cost something to get another player in to do exactly the job Les can do for nothing. We're not going to challenge for anything in the next couple of years which is about how long we need to see how the young blokes project so for me, I'd keep him if there's no trade forthcoming.

Anyway, it's not a big deal. It's been an enjoyable chat but there's probably not much left to say without going back over old ground. We'll just have to see how things pan out.

Never was & never will be an AFL player!
Sorry Dave but he was, is and will be.... for atleast another 11 weeks!

But seriously, did anyone ever see anything about this guy that made him think he will be some superstar? He is a good serviceable backup ruckmen/tall forward at best who has been unfairly pounded as being a complete DUD. It will be interesting to see how his influence on a game goes over the next 11 weeks if we actually decide to play a decent sized FF and allow him to play CHF with Jack doing his thing off the flank.
