PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

I have been amused to read how many people are calling for Patto to be dropped who are clearly being influenced by media commentators like the knobs on SEN who were getting into him on the weekend or do not watch the game properly. Patto's role is simply to replace Simmo and give him a rest while not being a liability in the centre square and provide some support around the ground. He is doing these things well while at the same time gaining crucial experience which all big guys (except the future superstars like the Kreuzers need). He does a great job chopping out the opponents allowing the Richmond midfielders to win the ball. I don't care if he gets the kick or if someone else does but as long as the team win the ball more times than not when a player is around the ball they are probably doing something well. As for bringing up Putt, Graham etc. these guys are 3 years of development away from having any decent impact at AFL level. Patto is now well advanced in his development and like Schulz this year will probably come into himself this time next year. In the meantime, I hope he keeps doing what he is doing with his limited roll and keep helping his teammates win the ball. Keep it up Patto.
