Why Supporting Richmond is the best gift you can give to a child

I started following Richmond at about 4 years of age because i liked that skinny little bloke who kicked the goals. When i started playing aged 7
i was a skinny little rover too. Kevin Bartlett was a great role model for kids growing up back then. Im still Richmond mad. My boy followed the Tiges too but swung to St Kilda, Pops team,a few years back. Fickle are the new generation. Richmond gave me great fun and satisfaction through my youth and adult life and you learn to take the good with the bad. Bartlett was leader of a club that was broke was running a tin rattle and had little in the way of cattle. What happened to him was a disgrace as has been the procession of outside coaches since. When Richmond go back to Richmond people and put a plan into place like Sheeds to coach for a period rebuild the marketing, rebuild the football dept, rebuild the recruiting dept, mentor the next generation of coaches then hand over to them, Richmond will be back on top where it belongs.
Richmond the Family club. That has a nice ring to it.

Pure gold. I will show my children this. Answers the question better than I ever could..."dad, why do we barrack for Richmond??"..."I don't know sweety, I don't know"

I love Richmond!

Even more when the media get envious and sprout bulldust about the AFL's greatest club!

Keep up the envy media!!!!

the richmond football club has taught me how to be a gracious loser but also how to take the occassional with in life wih both hands as hard as i possibly could!

:clap :clap :clap

This is brilliant. Well done if you are amongst us. My kids are still too young but I'm bookmarking it and will play it to them in years to come.

great short flick. The look on the young kids face says it all. Your not alone kid,we have all stared out of a window and thought "my god,we really are terrible" yet... always remember kids THE NIGHT IS DARKEST BEFORE THE DAWN.

Top stuff.

Saw in the end credits the film was from an original idea by Damien Streets - the much missed ex- BF moderator / Phantom drafter.

I'm nearly 52 and I've seen 5 magnificent flags..... Don't need any sympathy. I've been able to follow the Richo show and watch the artistry of Matty Knights in recent years. And then of course there was Scotty Turner's final. I'd love to see the doggies get up this year, then into the finals for us in 2010.
We are the mighty tiges.
