Why wasnt Will in the team?

If we're relying on Will to get give us drive out of the backline then we're stuffing him up. He is a pure stopper, an old fashioned, no-fuss footballer. If that's the reason he got dropped then God help us.

I would hazhard a guess you've hit the nail on the head. Will is just an old fashioned negater/stopper. Modern football requires more from a full back than what Will has to offer.

More his form over last year as well. It is a sad indictment that McGuane has gone past him.

You're spot on jb. He's lost confidence and form. I wouldn't be surprised if he's carrying some sort of injury as well.

I've been disappointed in the way Will's developed physically. He is still too light and to be honest his arms look like sausages compared to the players he is up against.

He told us at Club 80 last week that he simply is playing below his best, and he deservedly got dropped (his words). He added that it was up to him to play well at Coburg, and force his way back into the team.
He didn't seem pissed off with the Club at all, and was quite philisophical actually.

Collectively: better marks, more run, bigger bodies and more skill. ( I hope you're not trying to say Thursfield is as good as Glass/Rutten?)

Should be pissed of at himself and revving for the chance to get back into senior footy.
Philisophical about getting turfed out of the team FFS. Seems to be half the problem at Tigerland. Get dropped and meander along for a while, maybe you'll get back to seniors but it doesn't really matter, Coburgs a nice club to play at.

Thats good to here that he knows that he's is down on form and is working to improve it.

I doubt if we will see Will get much bigger than he is now. He had a year off with the knee and I'm sure he would have worked on it but some bodies just are made to be big. Thats not to say he still can't be strong. Size isn't everything when it comes to strength.

I'm confident that given how well he reads the ball in the air, He'll still make it back in to the side.

i agree. he should have bit shers then headbutted him to show how angry he was with his performance and getting dropped. infact he should be biting and headbutting everyone who crosses his path until he is promoted again.
