This time last year Shane tuck was in the ruck. I remember in that 1st game against carlton Cameron Cloke smashing us in the ruck and nick stevens dominating at ground level.
This year simmonds looks as fit as i've ever seen him. Browny has had a solid preseason, Newman and foley will go up a notch with the added responsability.
I watched the game live at Narranderra on friday nite.Tambling was very good.I know he has copped it on here, but i belive is about 2 have a breakout season. he was tackling his guts out and gut running all nite.
Cleve Hughes, another one who has copped it on here, was good the other nite as well.
There now seems to be a lot more depth in the club, and with a full list to chose from there may be some players who in previous sasons were regulars might play a bit at coburg.
I know it was only a praccie match the other nite, but a lot of non Richmond people were very impressed with them. They were swarming in
numbers around the ball like sydney normally do to everyone else.
Matty White was good the other nite as well.
Maybe this season won't be all doom and gloom, like a few on here are predicting, i for one are looking forward to the season, and i think we may surprise a few along the way.

I understand where you're coming from richards and I expect us to be better this year too. I think we need better luck from the injury gods for it to happen though. I'm not so sure we've greatly improved our tall man position and think our fortunes rely heavily on Simmo staying fit. Fingers crossed he will.

If we can retain a relatively full list to choose from, and keep pressure on those in the team to hold their spots, and if the second tier of players step up a notch we won't be the easy beats I'm so disappointed to read people on here claiming we'll be.

Bring on the Blues. Eat 'em Alive Tiges.

One things for sure this year we MUST see improvements in the 22 an under age brackets, not nessecarily match winners (though I think Lids will be)but we need to see some of these boys cement possies an start to be confident as a unit by seasons end.

May seem silly but would like to see a 6 an 5 or better ;D win ratio in the 2nd half of the season

okay its a positive thread and in the spirit of the thread i will post not why we will be better but players i expect to go to another level.
okay first and foremost.
connors - hbf rotating thru the centre. spending most of his time at hbf gradually spending more time in the middle as his motor grows.
tough inside player with good skills hes one of about 5 we need like him.

edwards - hopefully has put on some weight imo hes a must on one wing will run all day and work hard without the ball skills are not to bad missed plenty of targets last yr but i dont think theres anything inheritantly wrong with his action.

morton - hbf great kicking skills hes the man we want with the ball going forward. one criticism though' hes soft.

tambling - i dont have a problem with what tambling has done so far. more gradual improvement and i will be happy. because of his size i would like to see tambling coming of half back or on a wing.

deledio - to continue the steady improvement hopefully he spends a lot of time onball with stints in the forward line.

riewoldt - to play 12 15 games making a good contribution in most of them. would play jack as a third tall option at this stage of his career. i would give him licence to lead up the ground plenty. again steady improvement from him and we will be better for it.

graham - lets just say hes my roughie even though he has poor kicking skills i think he will give one hell of a contest at stoppages. needs to be our second ruckman coming of the bench.

there we go some areas we will get better in my faith is in kids i dont think the kids have enough around them to enable us to climb of the bottom though.

That is absolute must if we are to be any good in the next three to five year and a pretty fair wish. Good call CC.
