Newman on wing last quarter, looks forward, game in balance, sees one on ones x 3, no extra numbers back - and turns back into play, doesn't want to kick it! slips over, gets caught, ball goes back other way. Happened all day.

when we honour a lead or kick it to advantage we go ok. in last quarter once Riewoldt's lead was honoured, then long to Richo, got free kick. Put em under pressur, get it inside 50 - *smile* kills me

coaches got to be responsible to some degree here

Yeah great point.

Usually thats the sign of a team with no confidence.. yet we should be high with confidence especially after last weeks play-on at all costs working for us.

It seems too often players just dont want to stuff up so they opt for the cheap option of the hand ball or kick out wide/backwards to a loose man instead of taking the game on and kicking 50m long to a one-on-one.

They've got to have confidence in their team mates and have to kick to a contest every now and then. It's much easier defending in our forward half than stuffing around with it in our oppositions forward half.

TW has to tell them if they're in space with no pressure on them the first option should be a KICK, only if they see nothing ahead (ie: no one on ones) should they look to handball if they're not under pressure.

Classic Newman play.
