In 2006 we played the Bulldogs in Round 1 & lost by 115pnts. PRE went into meltdown (much like it did after the Carlton loss this year).

We then had a respectable loss to the Saints by 11 pnts (again much like our loss to Geelong).

West Coast then pumped us by 46 pnts (Doggies by 47pnts this year).

Our season looked lost.

By the end of that year we ended with 11 wins and finished "9th with a bullett" as the "Suntanned" one said.

Given our relatively easy draw for the rest of the year I could see us doing this again!!

Just think its an interesting parallel thus far into the season.

Should we as Tiger fans be happy with that or should we "bottom" out for draft picks?

I think there's a very good chance it'll happen again. I'd far prefer to see a team full of kids (plus Richo) played for the rest of the year.

I think it's time to go down that path.
Let's genuinely aim at 2011 instead of finishing in the mid table wilderness propped up by a bunch of older players.

I will say that Simmonds poor form this season is coinciding with the team's struggles.
Him missing in 2007 was a big reason for the spoon.

Looks like history is repeating and our pathetic ruck division is catching up with us again.

I'll say it again too we had an absolute dream run with injury last season and the best we could do was 9th. It's not taken much for this year to go awry.

'9th with a bullet'..is 2009's 'locked and loaded'. :bs

Cant help but think Ploughs infamous comments in 07, saying that we were a shot in 2011 let the boys off.. having said that, if that is the case as tOO said, lets genuinely aim for that year and play the kids. If it works unfortunately Plough wont be there to see the fruits of his hard work but it is a necessary line to take now. However, whilst he remains coach, it will not happen because he is striving for a finals finish this year and is not looking beyond.
