with that team you named mind telling me exactly where the improvement is going to come from.Phantom said:I have no doubt that we'll improve.
We have a very good set of junior & development staged players who just need a good game plan, some discipline and another 50/60 games under their belts.
Chin up everyone.
Didn't Hawthorn clear out their senior duds and have their junior cream rise to the top. Who was Hawthorn's coach before Clarkson? Hard to remember now.
Didn't Brissie have a terrible year, the coach resigned, the young boys won the last few games of the season, then went on to win 3 in a row.
Didn't Adelaide put in Blight who got rid of McDermott, McGuiness & Jarman Snr and found that their juniors won 'em back to back.
Westcoast got rid of their hacks, put in a new coach, and their kids finally came up trumps.
Didn't Sheedy get rid of VanderHaar, Madden & Daniher in the one season and win a premiership soon after.
Have faith. Same will happen to us.
Talking about our players being soft.
Supporters are softer.
Chin up and watch our boys develop.
Be able to say in a few years time, "And to think I thought he was going to be a dud and now he's holding the cup!"

thursfield mcguane down back please you have seen te best of them already. mcguane is skill deficient and thursfield is to one dimensional. both are light for kpds and imo only one can play.the vast bulk of their improvement has happened basically what you see is what you get.
h backs moore polo and rance. moore is a solid citizen polo well im sorry 5 yrs in and enough is enough. rance to become a damaging player just has to improve his kicking. at least he competes and gives run but at this stage hes typical rfc glass half full.
lets say hemakes it thats two keepers. at half back.
centre line nothing wrong with it in fact at this stage looks very good. personally though deledio should play across hb.
h/forwards jack big concern about his pace otherwise no other real worries he needs at least 7kg on his frame.atm hes a bit one dimensional.no cert yet but hes a keeper.
vickery at chf says it all hes a ruckman who will drift forward ala ottens. sort of says it all we dont have a chf atm. tambling 5th yr player who by your own model has struggled. imo has failed as a mid and a forward his deficiencies say he should be coming of hb by no means has he made it and time is fast approaching where a decision has to made on him. with what hes produced so far he no keeper.
forwards/ sheesh putt very developmental still playing coburg ressies in the main way to early to be pinning our future on him besides hes primarily a ruckman like vickery. again the lack of genuine kpfs really shows out. keeper for now.
morton i would go so far as to label him a down hill skier.totally lacking in the defensive side of the game. while skilled he must become a more rounded player or he will go by the wayside. keeper just.
white just butchers the ball way to much does not o enough inside to offset this chases hard tackles hard but is this enough in your smalls i think not.
rucks graham very unskilled who knows with these types if browne vickery and putt do develop i would have thought he be up for trade quick smart. hes more or less there because theres no one else atm.
jackson a 6 yr player who is very inconsistant and has no footy smarts. dont care where hes come from after 6 yrs for a medium what you see is what you get dont believe theres a hell of a lot of improvement left in him. again is what he brings to the table good enough and do we base our future on him i think not.
foley dont know about anyone else but he is struggling and has been in the main for a season now. imo hes a keeper but hes another who must find some strings to his bow. when hes tagged out of games why is there no attempt to free him up either by playing forward or given a run of hb. used to be critical of skills hes one of very few who has managed to dramatically improve in this area to the point where hes passable.
int post like rance has some good attributes but again footskills leave a lot be desired very good mark and nice mover a possible kpf down the track.keeper
jon you left the best to last in all honesty can you see him making it.
this is it, very few certainties and a lot of what ifs maybes and hope.personally i dont deal in hope i wont to be able to put a line under players names and say yep he will definately make it you then have those in development who you are working out if they are long term keepers and then you have those who have the red line thru their names who are to be delisted or not part of the long term.
