Seeing as this year looks like being the last clean draft for a few years due to G.C. and Syd. coming on stream.
Should the footy dept. consider dangling some early picks for quality young players?
Realisticly we have stuff all players of tradeable value to get us into extra early selections so perhaps there may be more value in reversing the situation and dangling some picks to clubs that may be desperate for an extra early pick.
Tivva appears gone, and Richo, Bowden, Brown, Simmonds and Johnno are to old to have any value. They will also be finished within a year or two.
Coggs and Polack would be out of contention due to injuries and Jordy because we only just got him.
Newman, Tuck, Petts, Schulz, Monsta and Jakey would be about tradeable age and experience
but only Newy and Tuck are regular seniors.
The rest of the list is pretty well under twenty two with a stack of development and experience still to be gained.
If clubs are going to be seriously hanging on to their draft picks because they don't know what they are going to have available for the next three drafts perhaps there is a once off opportunity to get double value for an early pick and perhaps pluck some talented 23 / 24y.o. players to fit key gaps in our list.
