With Staff staying do you think Knobel is safe?

Very happy to hear the big fella's going around 1 more time :clap :clap :clap

Agree, happy to have Staff for 1 more year, even if it is a reduced capacity due to his aging frame as a back up. A fit and firing extra bigman in August & September is gold.

Happy to keep Knobel who improved his on field statistical performance significantly under Steve Alessio's teaching. Would want to see the rate of improvement continued for the next 2 years from Knobel. He really does need to get first hands on it to feed Tuck/Cogs and then the out runners.

Knobel is good insurance. Staff has always struggled with injury and it's useful to have another experienced ruckman ready to go. Remember 2004 when if there was a problem with Staff or Ottens or both we had to rely on...shudder...Ben Marsh.

Knobel is as safe as houses.

I don't expect Staff to play in any major rucking role in 2006, but can see him as 'pine specialist' to fill the void up forward, and as a ruck spare.

Fitness the issue, stuggled for 15 games this year at 7 disposals and 5 hitouts per game. Only played 11 games in 2004. Not getting younger, fitter or better but fortunately not getting shorter either. Should stay given our options but lucky to be playing on IMO.

Agree, but by luck I think he was retained. TW had stated hw only wanted to keep 1 of the 3 (Campbell, Graham or Staff).

Its funny, Graham & Campbell had great years with the Tigers, but they were spent. Staff was hardly effective this year yet gets a gig for next year by default. After next year it will be his last. You don't want to trade off Knoble this year or next as then you would be left with hardly any established ruckmen.

I would guess he is only 50/50 at this stage. I don't believe he will be worth more next year and I think he could easily wind up back at Carlton.Maybe Knoble and Chaffey or Tivendale plus d/p 8 to Carlton for d/p 4 and 20?Mmmm. ;D
