You are truly off with the pixies.

From what I have read it seems that Pell crime is that he was in a position of authority or had knowledge of and chose to cover it up.

I don't think he has committed any acts of indecency.

Only he and the alleged victims would know that surely. I don't see how anyone unconnected to the case would have any idea.

He did cover up for others though.

hes been charged with 'historic acts of sexual abuse'

which I assume is sexual abuse, ages ago.

I dont think the old 'time heals all wounds' applies to sexual abuse. Not sure why theres a 'historic' in the charge?

Not true mate he has been accused of touching up boys at Eurecka swimming pool and also flashing himself to others. I hope they bring out the rope for him as I know personally 4 of his alleged victims. One has leukemia at the moment and is really struggling.

Check out some of the highlight package of Hodge on the AFL website - his debut game was against the Tigers and it is bloody impressive! He became the engine and authority figure out on the ground for the Hawks early on and simply improved every year. Make no mistake a player of his calibare could take the Tigers to a premiership.
i have no doubt that if hodge was our captain he would of done something/imposed himself in the last minute of all the close games we lost this year and maybe we would of won a few of them and be sitting on top of the ladder

A half decent captain would have stood up and done something long before the last minute. Don't forget we had decent leads earlier on in a couple of those games.

Agree with you 100% houdini; having this sort of on-field leadership would make a huge difference to the Tigers. Cotchin is an excellent player and apparently a nice person but we need a different sort of captain. Click the link below 1eyedtiger and you can watch what I'm talking about:

I see what you mean. My point was that if we hadn't let decent leads disappear, then the last minute wouldn't be so critical. I was more focusing on the importance that everyone likes to place on those last minutes when we really shouldn't let ourselves get into that position in the first place. My view being that the entire game should be under the microscope, not just what happened in the last minute.

But it would interesting to see a clip with Cotchin mic'd up. To see what he says and how the players react to his instructions.

watched the video and it makes me think if we had hodge as captain we would of also won a final under dimma by now , especially the carlton game in 2013

Given this more and more secular world, maybe it's time for RFC to move on from having a religious figure-head as a patron of the Club.

Maybe today His Grace could address the team before today's game & bestow some spiritual enlightenment on the players to rise above all expectations & deliver us from the evil Joints. Amen.

Can we move the little leaguers to safety first please...

Does anyone know whether Pell the convicted paedophile is still Vice Patron of our great club???

Seems a suppression order has stopped his conviction from becoming public.

What a coincidence a day later the Pontiff removed Pell from his 'inner circle'

I believe that honour has been withdrawn

It was a disgrace when he was appointed in the first place, an utter disgrace he remained whilst awaiting trial, and an absolute and total disgrace he remains now.

We are standing shoulder to shoulder with a convicted child sex offender.

At least it is one way to make our stance on pokies look less morally bankrupt I suppose.

It's the holiday break.

Re: Innocent until proven guilty - I'm not surprised Gale doesn't operate the club through Trial By Media anymore.

For accuracy's sake I believe that he was convicted of covering up crimes not being a paedophile.
