Would you give up draft picks for Rayzor?

Re: What now for Rayzor?

I think Rayzor's role will eventually become less and less if Polak overtakes him. Unless Ray re-invents himself, with Thursfield coming back and maybe (hopefully) Nathan Brown coming to us with pick 26, he may be up for trade about this time next year.............

Re: What now for Rayzor?

Give it a break.

We are only 24 hours into this new "favourite whipping boy " love affair with Graham Polak.

I'm willing to guess that once the honeymoon is over Hall and Tivver will resume their places as number one and number two favourite whipping boys and we will be in "Situation Normal." Polak will have to earn his stripes like everyone else.

Re: What now for Rayzor?

I think it will become more a case of... "what now for Gas" next year. He will see limited gametime with Thursfield (once fit), Hall, Polak & the Bowdens holding down the defensive posts. Gas will be handpicked for games based on the opposition forwards. Expect to see a bit of him at Coburg. :-\

Anyone care to guess a number for Polak? Howat to number 6 and Polak number 43?

Re: What now for Rayzor?

Polak should get 39...as a reminder of the courage, bravery and selflessness he need to exhibit whilst wearing the Richmond jumper in our defence.

Re: What now for Rayzor?

I think he'll get #6 or #10. No real reason, just might look good on him. :hihi

Pinch hitter off the bench I reckon.

That's what I think too Ita Buttrose.
Ray's a very useful tall player because he can play a few roles.

He isn't the answer at CHB and we all knew that but he'll still be handy for us.

Yep I agree as well ittytitty.

Gumpus makes me very nervous when he has the ball in his hands, but the lad is game for a contest.

I see him coming off the bench for some ruck relief work around the ground, or to throw out a match-up with his height.
He is able to to cover most positions on the field too.......just how adequately is the question :headscratch

Hall will have his best season by far next year if he can stay injury free and play away from defense.

I expect he'll get some tagging roles on bigger players like Goodes which he's done to good effect in the past.

I expect we'll also use him across half forward to add some grunt to the half forward line, hold the ball in and make sure no players are taking several bounces out of defense unpressured, plus bomb the ball long to the goalsquare and pinch a couple himself from around 50.

Most of all I just hope we put him out there on the wing running between the 50's all day and force the opposition to do something about him. Every side has half a dozen fringe players who usually play on one another - generally matching a junior on junior. Throw Hall amongst those type of matchups (not wanting to play a 'name player' on him) and he will run riot to the point where opposition coaches are forced to do something about him.

But the question is what? The typical type of heavy mileage players who could keep up with him long term would be smashed by him in the air. Those who could compete in the air would be run off their legs.

We will be forcing the 'Goodes quandary' on other sides - to our distinct advantage.

LOL, by years end the other clubs will be bemoaning that they don't have, or can't find a suitable match for Razor as he dominates around the ground. ;D

Would any of us complain if he did?
I'd be happy to see the big Gumpus runnin amok upfield, but only after he teaches Polack how to be a hardnosed arsepick at every contest in the backline.
