Would you take an ugly win?

At this stage, would you take a chipping/flooding win or do you prefer action?

  • I'd prefer a win, even if it was flooding/chipping droll football.

  • I'd prefer a flowing contest which we lost.

If the only way we could win was an ugly win, I wouldn't be thrilled, unless it scored as a Premiership.

I'd have no problem if "winning ugly" was just one feather in our bow used to win many games in a season.

Whoever came out with "It's not whether you win or lose. It's how you play the game." Never played a professional sport in his life.

"On Sunday I watched the Melbourne-West Coast game which was over by quarter time. Sitting with a Dees fan I asked him would he have preferred coach Neil Daniher to clog the game up and play two players behind the ball and try to make it a more even contest. His reply was that he is a purest of the game and would prefer to see a one-on-one contest."

Terry Wallace

Scary, I think like Terry....

Or maybe everyone pondered this over the weekend.

That's rubbish Benny.

Care to eleborate? Not that it means much but even Kennett of all people said the same thing. "The Hawks style means the club would not play in Grand Finals"

...and if that's the case then what's the use of doing it?

Anyway I just think players like Tambling will become better players if they can experience playing the run and carry game rather than trying to get experience playing scrappy backwards football!

That's fair enough surely. How do you expect Tambling and co to develop if we were using the St Kilda gameplan?

They get the 4 points but they don't learn how to make a serious impact on the game.

I know wher your coming from Benny..............49.9% of me agrees with ya , but a Win right now sounds pretty good , doesn't it.
Sure, long term , No Value , couldn't agree more but what of the present , gotta get THAT Win , who knows , maybe IT will give the younger Blokes the emphasis to go on and aim a bit beyond the obvious.
Gotta Dare to be Great sometimes.............Anybody can be mediocre.

Would you guys back Richmond to win a game using attacking footy over the next 3 weeks?

We have Essendon, Brisbane and Melbourne then Hawthorn and Kangas in there afterwards, I'd love to see us win a couple! We would have to be a chance in all of the you'd think and I really really wanna beat Hawthorn especially ;)
