After watching Hawthorn versus the Saints, I really began to wonder whether winning by flooding and paralyzing the game is worth it. Certainly for neutral supporters it is a total turn-off.
If you are 0-8 though, and were given a choice of a guaranteed win next week but only by reducing the game to a perpetual tedious flood, would you take that over a flowing contest of 18 goals per side, even if you were likely to lose?
