Would you trade Moore for a top 3-5 draft pick?

NO &! WAY!

I would trade my mother in b4 trading Kel Moore, he has a 10 year future and I would sell my car to keep him at RFC for the next 10 years.

Where did you send your mum and what sort of car did you drive jb? 8)

same height and same weight. and a massive chasm in quality and class. if the schulzs of this world are what we are expecting to take us forward we are in strife plain and simple we just have to aim higher and raise the bar.

Another Cotchin would be nice. As you say, silly thread.

I read the article on Scarlett. The evidence to support the notion that the better tall defenders going around are mobile rather than big and bulky is overwhelming.

Mackie, Moore, Thursfield, O'Brien, Maxwell, Harley, Scarlett, Gilham, Morris, Lake, Bolton, Hargrave, Gilbert, Fisher etc etc etc.

The power forwards mark the ball out on the lead 90% of the time. The critical skills are keeping up with them and getting a fist to the ball with minimal contact on your opponent. The days of trying to beat them into submission are over, thanks to "hands-in-the-back" and the free for arm-chopping.

Gorilla defenders were a historical aberration that crept into the game in the 1980s and 1990s when umpires were very relaxed about the definition of "interference in the marking contest."

By the way, that article indicates Scarlett has got shorter too. He has been 192-193 cm throughout his career but it listed him as 190 cm and 90 kgs.

Gotta love the misinformation in the "official" AFL stats for height and weight.
i dont think that quite right . mackie plays as a flanker. harley taylor scarlett egan play kpp.they are all over 192 and weigh around the 95kg mark.
obrien like mackie plays as a flanker and is only 187/90. brown 195/97 . maxwell who is 193cm and 93kg wakelin 192/93and prestigiocomo 193/96 play kpp.

gilham is 192/92

morriss has predominately played as a running player he filled in this yr in the key post hes190/92 lake is 195/104 hargrave is a flanker whos been forced to play back 190/ 87 and not really a kpp. williams 196 /101

bolton 190/87 roughly kel moore size. does play kpp and goes okay but he is often assigned third tall duties it depends on match ups. lewis roberts thompson 196/95 richards 192/94 leo barry give them options

sam gilbert is 194/92 dempster 192 /88sam fisher 192/92hudghton 191/93 macguire 190/94 goddard 191/92.
have a look at the players around the players you mention every team has options and in most cases theres a gorilla option.

kel moore 189/86 thursfield 191/85 mcguane 191/86 rance 192/88 and the only one who looks to have both quality and some size down the track. and of course theres the 6 yr hack schulz at 193/95.

the point being good sides have the option most clubs have a moore type and they also have the gorilla option we dont. ive maintained we would be a better side with moore on a flank rance at chb a quick strong fb and one of thursfield mcguane as a third tall option. im loathe to stick with mcguane though as his skills are not good enough.

Rather than opinion lets look at the facts of what actually happened on field this year clawser.

Can you let Leysy know which key forwards got hold of our "undersized" key backs this year?
oh gimme a break maisey we have been thru this. i think a teams structure is very important i think it also important to have the option to change the game around if things dont go right.

Richmond is OK at developing players, Simmonds, Polak, Moore,Thursfield, Maguane, Shulze, Riewold, Hughes, Pattison have all progressed.
Are they enough, probably not quite but with a few more each draft we will be a top 4 team.
Rance, Putt, Graham ?, Gourdis are yet to debut (or make an impact) so we have some prospects too.
Wallace is a good coach but probably not a great recruiter, too many flankers.
Let CC select a balanced list and TW coach them then we have a chance to really progress.
I would prefer no more rejects, unless traded for the underperformers, Pettifer, Hyde, etc and just drafting for talented new selections

Silly thread,Moore has improved but we'd be lucky to get a 2nd rounder for him.

not really. If essendon can get a 1st round pick for ted richards then i can't see why we can't get the same for moore. Just depends if there is a club out there that is keen of a backman.
