PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

Yellow Team v White Team time coming soon. Always the best pre-season game of the year.

Who do you like as match-ups? How would you select the teams?

For me I would like a more even contest this year than last year – no Richo v Archibald match-ups (the poor kid was severely embarrassed for a half) – a contest between equals.

Some of the juicy individual match-ups for mine would be:

Richo v Hall: now let’s see how much you’ve improved Mr Hall
Newman v Johnno: the newbie against the incumbent
Deledio v Tambling: mouth watering contest
Pettifer v Hartigan: skills and niceness v courage and nasty: a Dyer’ere ding-dong special
Pattison v J Bowden: can Patto utilise his height advantage? Has he got smarts?
Cogs v Foley: who will win the tackle count? the handball count?
Polo v Tuck: just love the look of this match-up

So, to the teams – assuming Brown will not play and Chaffey is still recovering from OP:

WFB: Humm J.Bowden Thursfield
YFF: Krakouer Pattison P.Bowden

WHB: Hartigan Schulz Jackson
YHF: Pettifer Simmonds Moore

WC: Newman Tuck Casserley
YC: Johnson Polo O-Nicholls

WHF: Meyer Richardson Tivendale
YHB: Raines Hall Roach

WFF: Rodan Hughes Limbach
YFB: Hyde McGuane Kellaway

WR: Knobel Coughlan Tambling
YR: Stafford Foley Deledio

WINT: Graham Howat
YINT: Gaspar White

Result: I reckon the whites will belt’em. Too much pride from Joel, Newman, Tuck and Coughlan, too much nasty from Hartigan, Jackson and Knobel and too much talent from Schulz, Richo, Meyer and Tambling.

Or the game will be abandoned after an all-in brawl that will emanate from an encounter between siblings Pat and Joel Bowden.

GO TIGES.
