ive seen a few of coburgs games recently, more particularl since jade left to coach richmond and started dropping the senior rfc players. one major fact that stands out like a beacon is that coburg are playing much worse than they were at the beginning of the year.
today they played against a casey team who just lost 7 guys to the melb side (ok gained robbo), so pretty much a third of casey's normal side.
from what i saw there was 14 richomnd listed players. you would assume that such afl experience and a somewhat depleated casey side would result in an easy win to cobury......WRONG.
my point is, since these rfc listed playes have been dropped to play for coburg, the coburg team has been playing poorly and losing games. is it because jade has left....maybe.
i think its the fact that these rfc players are just not good enough. if they cant stand up and contribute in a major way against vfl players, what chance do they have in the afl.
we didnt have a coach, or list mgmt team with the heart to clean up the list the last few years and start afresh and blood some young pllayers. we just kept on keeping on with the average players. average players get you in the bottom 4. stagnating year after year.
if anything jade has exposed the true position of our list. surely they can now see that we are going nowhere with these players, and now the tough calls must be made to have a major clean out of our list. i wont mention specific names but many on the coburg v casey thread speak for me.
what do u guys think, cause ive just about had enought of our soft approach to list management, and us as a club going no where with average players.
