The Hawks have hardly beaten the Tigers in the last 15 years.  In fact they have suffered some of their more humilating losses in that period to the Tigers.

One of my favourite games of all time was when Richmond came back from about 10 goals down at 1/4 time.  Go Stafford!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I remember the first time we beat that mob after a stretch when they would absolutley take us to the cleaners (refer to Dunstall).  The day was a very, very, very, very, very wet afternoon at VFL Park, we just crossed the line.

Does anyone remember the year and what round it was?
GPB, I wouldn't stake a million bucks on it, but I think it was '95 and round 4. Wasn't it the Easter round, too?

It was early in 1995, round 3 or 4, with final scores something like Rich - 4.16 (40) to 5.4 (34). it was played in the pouring rain at Waverley and put an end to our long losing streak against the Hawks. It also started a winning streak for us, because i'm pretty sure we won the next 5 or 6 games against them after that.

We've actually got a really good record against teh Hawks from this time on.

Well, no actually.

The record between the clubs over the past 15 years is 12-all, with Hawthorn thumping Richmond 4 times during this period (8 goals+) compared to Richmonds 1 thumping (in 1997).

Since 1995 the record is 12-6 to the Tigers though, with 1 thumping a piece.

This century the record is 6-4 to the Tigers, with the only major margin being the 58 point win to the Hawks. Richmond's largest win of its six during this time was the 20 point result from the Stafford match.

kayne pettifers b!tches ;D

I think this one sums up B*tchmond better.
25 years of mediocrity, everbodys b*tch. Yehhhh.

:-*

what you talking about ferris, you guys havn't beaten us in a while and after 2001 when we both made premils we have both been terrible and both now have bright futures. remove 70's and 80's and i dont even want to remind you about your mediocre past! :P :gotigers

We beat you 2004, You know the game to see which club had any pride. ogh thats right you now have a beautiful wooden spoon and a wonderfull player in Deledio.

Its a pity people don't remeber the days of the horse and cart, when footy was just a recreational sport for cricketers, The memory of Richmond being rubbish is fresh in the mind for everybody to see, Its been virtually non stop for the past 25 years.

I dont remember Hawthorn's last spoon maybe because i wasn't born, but i remeber there premierships. I wish i could say the same for you, actually i dont. Suffer. :P

There's going to be a good rivalry between our sides as they develop, Its good for footy. :clap

ferris, as long as you have AC as your coach winning is something you will not have to worry about.

as for us tanking the brett deledio trophy game. it was worth it. what a mighty trophy it is. :cupgold

Nice try! but as for Terry tan be prepared for him to walk out and leave your club in a irreversible condition, he did it at the bulldogs as a coach and he did it as a hawk and a tiger as aplayer, he's a quiter and he loves his midgets. ;)

argh now you call it the tanking brett deledio trophy game, typical loser mentality 25 years and counting. :P

you are quit to bag the suntanned one but you have no comment on alastair frawley clarkson so that speaks volumes

There is nothing to say, he has only been coaching for 1 year compared to Wallace who has coached for 8 or 9 years, last year many people and experts predicted Hawthorn to finish with the wooden spoon, but that didn't happen unlike Richmond of 2004. :)

the spoon was all yours had it not been for a totally deplorable carlton. but second last is still pretty good too, so well done.

you better save some of your excuses for saturday. you will need them

Yeah finishing second last 2 years in a row is really something to hang your hat on ShaveFlucus. ::)
How many PRE members post on HHQ?? Because we seem to get heaps of them over here, keen to have their say.
If you going to bother, atleast don't speak *smile*. Realist can manage it, follow his lead.

Actually bud we finished 3rd last. Its still better than finishing up with the wooden spoon though, I have never had the pleasure of witnessing my side come dead last, what is it now 2 spoons in the last 16 years???

I haven't mentioned one excuse yet, so i don't know what you're on about.

easy boys

save ferris is a mate of mine and i started it by winding him up. its a bit of fun.

one thing though ferris. if our performances over the last 25 yrs have all lead to us getting brett deledio than it was all worth it.

If that helps you sleep at night then so be it.

What a shame we got off the track of getting stuck into Tony Shaw.

Interested - if you ever get the chance to listen to him at a sportsman night, I encourage you to attend. You seem like a patient person - although I bet by the end of the night you'll feel like sticking a fork in your eye, so you can forget the whole sorry saga!
